These headphones sound great and are very affordable, but just know what you are getting. If you're looking for some great sounding headphones to listen to around your house using a headphone amp, these would be a great buy. But if you're looking for something to take to the gym, or use at work you'll probably want to look elsewhere. Pros - Excellent sound quality

SteelSeries Arctis 9

(1/1)

Hopefully that's reasonable in my price range. From my own searching, **SteelSeries Arctis 7** sounds a lot like what I’m looking for, but I’d like some feedback before I make my purchase. Anyway, I hope I've given a good general idea of what I'm looking for. Thanks!

My wife disagrees, but I think movies sound punchier and more intimate on grado cans. And they have the side benefit of letting two people listen to something and just talk like nothing since they leak like mad. But again, all round? These babies, hands down.

SteelSeries’ Arctis 7+ ($169.99) is a quality wireless gaming headset. It's high-end, but a step or two down from the company’s flagship models (the Bluetooth-enabled Arctis 9 and the dual-battery Arctis Pro Wireless, both a few years old). It feels good, sounds good, and can wirelessly connect to a wide variety of devices besides PCs, including the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and 5, and Android phones with USB-C ports

Comfort

Drop + HIFIMAN HE4XX

All-day comfortable with ease (they can get a tiny bit warm with the alcantara pads in a hot room, but not even close to unacceptable) and utterly zero squeaks or creaks (looking at you, Audio Technica AD700's) The one, ONLY gripe I have with them is the nice cable they have is too short for anything other than a desktop amp or device RIGHT in front of you. BUT, it's replaceable, and lots of companies make cables for them. Side benefit is you can get a balanced cable for them, and if you get a BTR5 as well, that amp has a balanced output option. So they can sound EVEN BETTER

SteelSeries Arctis 9

TL:DR Pros - Great ergonomics, High quality, durable feel Cons - Quiet microphone, adjusting input volume would make the microphone overly sensitive beyond reason. Couldn't make it work for me.

Fit

Drop + HIFIMAN HE4XX

It's not long enough for comfortable PC/ living room AV receiver use for me, so I ordered a replacement cable when I bought the headphone. The replacement cable is that red one that everybody else is buying. I clipped the "braided" part off, and now they're really cool looking red cables. They click really nicely into the headphones - better click than the stock cable

There’s a new version of SteelSeries’ Arctis 9 wireless gaming headset available starting today for $199.99. The design and feature set is almost an exact match to the SteelSeries Arctis 9X. But while the Arctis 9X supports the Xbox One (and is forward compatible to Xbox Series S / X), the new Arctis 9 is compatible with the PC and PlayStation 4, with compatibility for the PS5 ensured at launch

Customer service is not amazing. Warranty is nothing special. Oh, and the stock cable is a cable. It's not great

.. Your only hope is that your within your 1 year warranty and even then I read some stories where they won't cover it as they grouped it to be "regular wear/tear".

Durability

SteelSeries Arctis 9

(1/3)

The headset itself also _seemed_ fairly durable as, despite me dropping them on my hardwood floor somewhat often, they never had any apparent issues resulting from it. In addition, it's lasted me for years under heavy use and in this time I've only needed to replace the USB adapter once. This headset also has surround sound and some configurable acoustics options, but I never really used any of those options and turned off surround sound since it wasn’t great for my purposes.
