The Glorious GMMK 2 is so GOOD

They feel like a buttery, smooth cherry mx red, that's exactly what they feel like. Oh my gosh, and they just sound so great, but it's not just a swit...

Keycaps

Terrible stabilizers, decent everything else, too many screws

This kit has some of the worst stabilizers i've had the displeasure of "using". Spacebar rattles and the other ones stick. To remedy this you can try cleaning them but not like Glorious instructs on their website with isopropyl alcohol; that murks the inside of the plastic housings and makes them abrasive and scratchy rendering them useless unless you take em apart and fully de-grease them in a soapy water bath then hand dry them after a rinse. Doing that reverts the lot back to usable (as in they will function) but with more rattle

Pretty nice intro level mechanical keyboard with some quality control issues.

Another thing, the key caps that come with the keyboard are okay quality, they are not PBT and do not feel great. The ones in the picture are the PBT keys I got for 20.00 on Amazon. I like the contrast

Build Quality

A sturdy DIY keyboard with a lot of potential

The overall typing experience of my Kailh Speed Silver and PBT keycaps build was quite good. I was surprised by how well everything fit together, resulting in a light and rattle-free touch-typing experience that’s made all the more impressive considering the GMMK Pro isn’t pre-assembled. While I wouldn’t say that it’s the best feeling keyboard I’ve used out of the box, the GMMK Pro is definitely up there.

Glorious has the ability to drive the prices down for mechanical keyboards but decided to capitalize on the boutique market that is mechanical keyboards. For this price and knowing that you are getting up charged because of the size of the lots Glorious is ordering, you should get some well lubed stabs. Call them whatever you want but if it’s not lubed well with the proper lube, you should just call it God Of All Trash.

Software

Mac config pains, but now a solid, quiet keeb

Time to get more custom...and along came the highly-popular GMMK Pro, mostly because I couldn't find a reasonable 100% and I wanted a rotary encoder

Decent-ish keyboard with some flaws.

Lighting effects are configured via software, which isn't bad so much as it's essentially undocumented. I couldn't find any manual or help for it. There are quite a few stupid effects - you'd never use ping-pong or glorious because it just turns your keyboard into waves of light and dark - but how do you use, for example, Fast Run or Pass, both of which highlight the key you've pressed, with a different backlight? It seems it should be feasible, but not at all obvious. Update: This keyboard is also extremely static-sensitive

So what i need is more SMOOTH and less heavy switches! also i want them to be accessible in the market and not overpriced

Price point is hard to beat

I am writing this review with the GMMK compact keyboard. It has a nice weight to it that makes it feel like it is high end. The aluminum lining around the edge of the keyboard make it look really sleek and I like that you can see the switches below the keycaps. The brightness on the RGB is very good

Price Point

My first custom keyboard!

I think the price is totally worth it! I did end up buying the durock v2 stabilizers here on Amazon and I think that upgrade is a must before you assemble your board. The stock stabilizers were over lubed and just not great. I had no fitment issues putting in the durock v2s. Honestly for the price, just get those so you don't have to disassemble your whole bored again later

Not impressed...

In that case, is this keyboard worth it? My answer is: if you have money to spare, maybe, if you don't just find a cheaper alternative. Good luck!

What White Ice should look like

Limited edition Glorious GMMK Pro keyboard, showcasing what people actually expected with the colourway name they led with. I appreciate Glorious' first attempt into this market, bringing forth a more affordable option, especially in 75% layouts (I'm also fond of volume dial generally), but I can't say I'm a fan of their misleading label of what clearly wasn't white for pure marketing purposes. I do like how the board looks though.
