it's a sling bag that can only be worn over the left shoulder, no one in their right mind would even consider using this bag in a situation where they would need a water bladder. I would really like to see Maxpedition's justifications on some of their design concepts on this bag because it just makes no sense. It's too big to be an EDC bag. It's poorly designed for a BoB or 72 hour bag
Zipper
Maxpedition kodiak
The zippers are nice, tid bit loud compared to my badlands but high quality none the less. Other then that i don't see myself with any other bag anytime soon.
Laptop
Maxpedition kodiak
It weighs more than a typical backpack for laptops but that’s to be expected with a pack like this. The quality is first rate although a sleeve for your laptop is probably a good idea. 5. The release buckle on the strap is great! When I wear it as designed (strap across my chest), it is definitely easy to take the pack off and put back on when I need to do it quickly
Commute

All in all, a really good and good looking backpack. The single strap is not an issue as I'm going from home to car / car to work. If I was carrying this for decent periods of time fully loaded, I wouldn't have gotten this bag. Loaded moderately, it's an all day bag no problem
Compartment

The zipper locations on the front two compartments, (especially the top one), can cause you problems if they aren't completely closed. I kept the pulls on the side and lost a coupe of items because they weren't COMPLETELY closed. If you keep the zippers on the top, you're more likely to water in the pockets when it rains. If you leave them at the side, they can easily be opened for the contents to fall out while it's on your back
Strap

However, it took me a year or so before I learned this and during that year the compression strap held up great as well. The one strap does make the shoulder sore after extended carry sessions. This inconvenience seems present with all one-strap bag designs, and the duration before the soreness sets in seems to depend largely on the bag weight. I owned a Timbuk2 Classic bag prior to getting this bag and experienced the same issue
