 I use as my quick access pocket. What I do is the zippers on the front. I try and keep them anywhere towards the top. So, on the go, if I need to open it grab what I need and close it back up, the laura mesh pocket has my electronics pouch

 Is the laptop sleeve like I said this isn't EDC and it was designed as an EDC, so it does have a laptop pocket like all garlic bags to access it. You have to flip the straps back, I'm lucky enough, where I don't need to use this as a laptop of pocket. I actually have a back frame that evenly distributes the weight of the bag. The bag empty is already close to three pounds

 This bag is between 21 and 24 liters. I personally tend to think it falls along the 24 litre and it definitely holds more than some of my 19 or 20 liter backpacks. This bag is made from a thousand D Cordura and, like all the go rock backpacks, it has the slanted front flat pocket and the line of moly at the bottom. I did get a chance to use this bag for a little while before New York and New Jersey completely shut down, as I still had to go to work

 This is not a brown paper bag. It'S actually a packing cube um. This is a packing cube. I generally take with me when I stay at my boyfriend's house, so it has a weekend, maybe a third or fourth day's worth of clothes inside that packing cube

These are taiwanese made. Ykk zippers, i can tell you already, which is okay um, they tend to be smooth. Go rocks take a little bit to get broken in, as you can see, um like this will take a little while to get smooth, whereas something like this bullet, which is already broken in, is just very smooth, but that's okay anyway, so that's it packed out

That does make a difference later, though, when we talk about laptops and how laptops work in here, but aside from that um that are those are the only exterior differences that you can see

It’s a great pack, I couldn’t tell the size as not good at estimating liters, it was a tad big for a women’s strictly hiking day pack. But better to large than to small, will probably work well in the winter when I carry more clothes. Great design and I like the Turquoise trim

I carry a MLC 45 for all my travel. It works great. I've never had an issue with not being able to take it on a plane and I can fit it in the overhead bin on a CRJ 200. It can carry a ton and its comfortable

Does anyone have any experience with these Patagonia MLC bags? I'm looking to travel around Europe with them and I'd like to travel carry-on only.

My plan is to carry a 15L backpack as a personal item and one of these MLC bags; I'm just wondering if anyone has any real-life experience with these and how well they travel carry-on only. 

Are they consistently accepted as carry on's? Are they actually too large even though they're designed for carry on travel? Are there better options than these bags for carrying a duffel-style bag and a small backpack for daily use?

Any responses would be appreciated. Thanks for the help!

 That kind of extends around the front and then all the way down the pack. So you can open this as kind of a panel loading or top style loading pack. Just by bringing that zip around halfway and exposing the top portion of the pack, you can access the top contents really easily there with that simple kind of half unzip and then, if you want, you can totally extend that zipper down the side of the pack to Access all the contents, so we've got really good wide access to all the contents of the bag. So if there's something that's buried that you need to access quickly, you can easily do so with that hybrid loading zipper, it stays really nice and there is a really nice structure there

 In that back panel to provide really nice structure, we do have the anvil, airway evie a ridged back panel, so on the sides here, you've got nice ridged raised foam with this air mesh for breathability and in the middle there is that channel there to promote air Flow and breathability so you've got nice padding in the lumbar section, a nice channel there and a channel up through the middle around that EBA foam padding. So really nice cushion on the back panel of the pack. We do have contoured shoulder straps with really soft broad spacer mesh for excellent breathability and air flow and that same mesh is down through the hip belt. So you've got really nice breathability down there as well

 So you can lay this down like a piece of luggage and have as to all of that in here. So a really nice zipper system with the mayhem of 45 we've got a couple more pockets on the pack to talk about on the front here we do have a very large stretch, mesh pocket, and it's got these neat compression straps on the sides. So you can actually make that pocket larger or smaller, depending on what you plan to put in there there's also this little looped buckle at the top, so you can easily detach that and expand those straps. If you need to this pocket could certainly accommodate a helmet

 On the front, we've got a really large stretchy pocket as well, and it's buckled down with compression on either side. So those side buckles act as compression for the overall pack, as well as for the front pocket. So you can loosen those up if you need to and make that pocket a little bit larger. If you want to store something like a helmet or a larger piece of gear, you can do so or you can cinch it down

Put a small jacket, a lightweight extra layer in there, if you need to, and on the other side, as I mentioned, we do have a stretch, water bottle, pocket, just kind of a standard stretch, pocket for water bottles or additional gear, so great feature there. Some final things I want to mention: we've got two loops on the bottom and bungee tie offs on the top here

 We'Ve got stretch pockets. So, on one side, we've got H stretch water bottle, pocket, that's canted or angled toward the back, so you can have easy access to it, while you're on the go and it does have adjustment around the outside to cinch down smaller water bottles. On the front, we've got a really large stretchy pocket as well, and it's buckled down with compression on either side. So those side buckles act as compression for the overall pack, as well as for the front pocket

 We do have a PE frame sheet in there to provide additional protection for the back panel. Mountain Smith is using their anvil, airway ridged evie, a foam for padding in this back panel, so we've got sturdy, comfortable and well cushioned materials here that are nicely ridged for breathability and are covered by that mesh for extra moisture management in the harness. We'Ve got a really easy adjustment system with the suspension here, so we've got a ladder lock system with the harness, very simple to just breakaway that velcro and make the adjustments, depending on your torso size. So there's a lot of different attachment points behind this harness and you can move that up and down to accommodate torsos as needed to get the proper load lifter adjustment we to do have two different points of adjustability for the load lifters, so you've got a top Load lifter buckle or toggle there

 From those larger heavier or sharper items, we do have a nice ridged foam back panel for some extra cushion and support, and it's kind of reduced in the middle to create that anvil airway channel to really promote airflow and breathability. So your back doesn't get too sweaty during your next trip. We do have some really soft shoulder straps here with nice air mesh so that it's really breathable. It really creates a nice airflow in the shoulders and it's got softer edges so that reduces chafing among the neck and shoulders

It'S not heavily structured, but it is enough to help transfer that load down to the hips

 So you can see I've got my water bottle in here now. Really nice and big pocket easy to store. Some other gear there as well, if you need to - and we do have an over/under compression, strap system so right now down at this buckle here you can see I've got the compression strap routed under, but you can undo that and route it over the top to Cinch down whatever is in that pocket, so really versatile system there. I like that over/under compression on the front of the pack
