Osprey Arcane Large Daypack

(1/1)

I wouldn't get the CPL if you're looking for more capacity (at least, not the 24L version). I don't have the CHZ22 (yet), but I can fit about the same amount in a 20L Osprey Arcane Large Daypack (the older waxed-canvas version) as the CPL24. The CPL has fairly opinionated organisation, meaning you need to pack it out to perfectly suit the dimensions of each of its pockets (and the laptop compartment is massive and eats into the main compartment, so it's pretty hard to fill out that compartment unless you have a 17" workstation laptop or something like that).

Zipper

Osprey Arcane Large Daypack

(1/3)

As always, we’re glad that YKK zippers are making an appearance on this pack. They have a similar look to the other hardware around the bag (which we’ll talk about next) and have been zipping and unzipping each pocket and compartment with ease. Bonus: the zipper pulls are super satisfying to fidget with, and look just like pencil erasers (although they don’t function as such).

Laptop

Osprey Arcane Large Daypack

Very good quality. Space for your laptop. Nice organizational features. If, however, you're looking for a camping backpack this is NOT what you're looking for

Commute

Osprey Arcane Large Daypack

(1/2)

great for a simple daypack! The waxed canvas of this bag is quite impressive- very abrasion resistant on the trail/climbing, but looks sharp in town as an everyday commuter. The straps are the nicest and most comfortable of my many Osprey packs (ranging from 11L to 55L). The adjusters for the shoulder straps are metal- a very nice touch. Even fully loaded, it carries comfortably and keeps a low profile

Compartment

Osprey Arcane Large Daypack

(1/1)

This compartment’s actual inside holds around 20L of gear, meaning you have a fair amount of room for your everyday essentials. Even if you stuff it to the brim, the bag won’t look overly bulky on your back—it keeps a nice, slim profile instead.

Strap

Osprey Arcane Large Daypack

(1/1)

The shoulder straps are comfortably padded for the load you’re likely carrying every day. They’re not under or overbuilt—instead, we’ve found them to be the just-right level of support for a bag of this size. They also feature a micro-mesh material that aids in keeping your shoulders ventilated, which is much appreciated when we’re out in the heat or have a particularly long commute.
