 You need three rows for that to work out, but inside dimensions are the same about a half inch different on the height and width, and then the depth is significantly shallower and again this is a 20 liter bag. This is a 21 liter size. So that's pretty again, if you're a shorter frame again, i'm five, nine, and so the gr1 size really fits me perfectly. But this is gon na, be a great camera bag based off of its size and versatility, and it's a little bigger than the bullet 15 liter by about six liters

 I use as my quick access pocket. What I do is the zippers on the front. I try and keep them anywhere towards the top. So, on the go, if I need to open it grab what I need and close it back up, the laura mesh pocket has my electronics pouch

 Is the laptop sleeve like I said this isn't EDC and it was designed as an EDC, so it does have a laptop pocket like all garlic bags to access it. You have to flip the straps back, I'm lucky enough, where I don't need to use this as a laptop of pocket. I actually have a back frame that evenly distributes the weight of the bag. The bag empty is already close to three pounds

 This bag is between 21 and 24 liters. I personally tend to think it falls along the 24 litre and it definitely holds more than some of my 19 or 20 liter backpacks. This bag is made from a thousand D Cordura and, like all the go rock backpacks, it has the slanted front flat pocket and the line of moly at the bottom. I did get a chance to use this bag for a little while before New York and New Jersey completely shut down, as I still had to go to work

 This is not a brown paper bag. It'S actually a packing cube um. This is a packing cube. I generally take with me when I stay at my boyfriend's house, so it has a weekend, maybe a third or fourth day's worth of clothes inside that packing cube

 Since i don't use my wallets very much and uh, let's see so my keys in this front guy my mask because i tend to use those things and this top one i'll put my corona stuff this and this this zippers are all ykk. These are taiwanese made. Ykk zippers, i can tell you already, which is okay um, they tend to be smooth. Go rocks take a little bit to get broken in, as you can see, um like this will take a little while to get smooth, whereas something like this bullet, which is already broken in, is just very smooth, but that's okay anyway, so that's it packed out

 The back. The straps are essentially the same from what i can see. Um the back panel itself, um, it's just slightly longer here, but it's basically the same thing. That does make a difference later, though, when we talk about laptops and how laptops work in here, but aside from that um that are those are the only exterior differences that you can see

This is just about the most pack one can comfortably handle without getting load lifters above your shoulders with a rigid frame. For everything from a challenging half-day to 36-48 hours out this pack is perfect. Works decently well for airline travel too as a carry-on.

The absolute miracle here though is that the pack is so light for its size, comfortable, airy, and compresses so well that I want to use it for most of my regular day hiking as well. Compressed, with a low weight, it feels nimble and body-hugging like the best daypacks for the sake of weighing just a couple ounces more than minimalist packs that you will never notice on such a comfortable suspension. And you get great features (big usable belt pockets foremost) and a level of durability that you're unlikely to find on a smaller capacity daypack. The only time I don't want to pick it up is when I feel like I'd look silly wearing a large-ish, hip-belted pack on a highly trafficked local trail, or I'm really only going to be out long enough to need liter or two of water and a jacket

Goldilocks

Pockets work out great for my needs. The little pocket on the left shoulder strap is perfect for my reading glasses or a small hand sanitizer.

Day hike carry-all.

 The straps are much less padded than the Aether line, with Osprey opting for a smooth non-woven fabric sewn around the edge - totaling about 1/4" thick. The padding is also perforated to reduce weight and provide some ventilation. The ice pick / pole holding cinch is integrated into the left strap as well, with a secondary fixed loop on the main pack body. The cinch itself is hidden in the fabric of the strap, but is easy to pinch with two fingers

 As a technical pack, it appears to be designed for minimal external gear, which makes sense if you're mountaineering - keeps the load stabler.  I haven't included a lot of the more well-known features in this review as they're well covered in the description here and on Osprey's site.  COMFORT I found out after a day of hiking that there's a specific sequence to tightening the load securing straps. There are two on each side - a top one, which you can cinch down as tight as you like, and a bottom one which is secured about 2" into the hip belt

I initially cinched it all the way to get the load as compact as possible, and found that the hip belt kept slipping no matter how hard I tightened it. What happened is that that lower strap pulled the hip belt out so it couldn't wrap around my waist - there was a sizeable gap as the strap and hip belt worked against each other

Great overnighter, mountaineer or minimalist thru-hiker

I recently got the Talon 33 for day hiking. It’s more space than I need but I enjoy the adjustable straps so it fits well as I’m really tall. Although it’s a bigger bag, I haven’t felt it’s cumbersome. I’d definitely recommend it

Hey there!

I have an Osprey Escapist 25 which is the wrong size for me (makes my back hurt a lot) so I'm looking to replace it. I'm torn between Talon 22 and Talon 33 (I'm a loyal Osprey fan who owns 4 osprey bags, lol).

I usually do day hikes so no tent / sleeping bag / mattress. Basically some snacks, food, stove, gas canister, some pot to boil water and maybe a fleece for colder days. Of course 3 liters of water.

I hiked with the Escapist 25 yesterday and it did run pretty stuffed. On one hand Talon 22 is more suited for day hike, on the other hand Talon 33 gives me some extra space should I need it (like adding a fleece or another layer on colder days). I'd get both if I could, but I need to decide.

Whats your opinions?

Osprey Talon 22 vs Talon 33 for day hikes

I’d look at the Osprey Talon 33 (no rain cover, but can buy one) or Stratos 34/36, or Kestrel 38. Personally, I’d stick with Osprey. I found Deuter bags quite ill fitting as I have a tall frame.

So my favorite pack (Osprey Escapist 32) has a strap break off, and Osprey won’t be able to fix it before my next big trip. Anyone also have this as their favorite bag &amp; found a suitable replacement since they discontinued it? I’ve found a Deuter bag that has similar features, but never actually owned one before.

I love the fact that my current pack has the following:
(1) Integrated rain cover
(2) Organizational pocket
(3) Separate shoe/sleeping bag compartment 

All the features have been so handy, quite frankly they’re hard to list as optional as specs needed. 

Anyone have a favorite for a day hike / single overnight pack?

 On top of that, you've got a really nice wrap around hip, felt, that's merely seamless and a shoulder harness with serious breathability and a lightweight construction. The mesh that covers all of this is very soft and provides some really good next to skin comfort as well, so there's less chafing and abrasion. If you're wearing no shirt or going with a tank top, the pack has pretty convenient access, but is fairly minimal. You'Ve got a fixed hood that can at least be unclipped to allow you to access the top spin drift collar

 You do get a lot of external storage options with the Talon dual side: water bottle, pockets or stretch mesh pockets that can definitely house other gear as well inside out compression straps. So you can reroute the strap over or under the pocket, depending on your needs. We'Ve got a bit of a front stretch pocket here as well, which is great for an extra layer or two there's also a small slotted piece right down at the base here. That can be used to attach a blinker light

 Osprey has reduced some of the materials used in the stack panel and really minimized it without actually sacrificing comfort and performance. This foam is cut and stretched across a semi rigid frame sheet to provide the structure of the pack. On top of that, you've got a really nice wrap around hip, felt, that's merely seamless and a shoulder harness with serious breathability and a lightweight construction. The Osprey Talon 33 is an ultralight, minimalist pack designed for long day hikes or overnight adventures. This pack has a weight of just around 2 pounds and can handle a decent bit of actual carry weight. Despite that construction, it's also great for travelers, who are looking for a lightweight backpack that can be used for those European Tour's jumping hostel to hostel. The back panel of the talon 33 is where the pack really shines
