Size
The North Face Jester Daypack
I can fit my 11" MacBook Air (with ease), or can fit my 15" MacBook Pro (nice, snug fit) in the laptop compartment. The front pocket area has great organization, and the side water bottle mesh do the trick for my 700 ml water bottle. The main compartment is serviceable. Depending on if you are carrying a laptop or not will determine how much actual space you have
Zipper
The North Face Jester Daypack
The main thing holding this backpack back from being perfect is quality of the materials. The zippers are the main concern. They are not as good of quality as the higher end/priced packs. They feel like they may not hold up as well as the rest of the bag
Laptop
The North Face Jester Daypack
The North Face Jester | Padding and about an inch of false bottom keeps the laptop safe.

Strap
The North Face Jester Daypack
Unfortunately, the strap is stitched and therefore non-removable in case you decide it’s unnecessary. Our only nitpick here is that it slides almost too easily, kind of like the SBS zippers, but not to an extreme degree. That said, it works well enough for the Jester’s size, and we see no reason for an overkill sternum strap either. Similarly, there’s no waist belt, and that keeps the harness system on the Jester simple but more than capable
