Timbuk2 Tuck Pack
6" laptop, without disturbing the main part of the bag. There is a small, nearly hidden zippered compartment handy for cards or a smart phone. It weights slightly more than my old Osprey, but it's comfortable enough I don't notice it, and all the seams seem they should outlast me. And, a side benefit of the simple rucksac design is that if one does want to overpack it, tall items can stick out without putting any strain on the zippers that aren't there
Commute

At 28L, the Tech Roll Top Backpack is not advertised as a travel backpack. It’s been specifically built for “the daily grind.” That said, you can definitely take it on smaller excursions and, if you’re a minimalist, use it as a full-on travel backpack.
Compartment

To point out the obvious, these pockets are for your small accessories. Wireless headphones, keys (if they’re slim), dongles, a good luck charm, things of that nature.
Strap

The lightweight straps getting uncomfortable carrying much weight make this a poor choice for long airport days. The deal breaker for me is no strap to slide it over a suitcase handle. I need a little more structure and a strap. But for others the above uses may make it worth owning
