See the others, you could turn the, swivel the earcups a little bit and these don't, these are sort of rigidly attached, I mean you can make it go up and down for different size heads but there's no swivel in the earcups. But nonetheless, they're very comfortable headphones, they're lighter than most, these are 14 ounces which is about 400 grams. They're very open sounding as you might imagine seeing that you can see the driver right through that grill, there's no damping or anything on the back side of the driver there

 This is, this guy I can say, Dick Hyman plays Fats Waller on reference recordings. This one is really, really good, this is second best. But this guy on MA recording, you know the thing that I love about this recording is you actually get a sense of the scale of a large grand piano, that is so rare. It's not compressed so when Nucho here is banging away, you feel it

 I doubt it's being streamed anywhere so yeah I'm sorry I've got to get one of these puppies to hear it, but that's the way life goes, sometimes you've got to struggle to get the best. Reviewed: Hifiman Ananda headphone + music review

 Hey friends, my name is Steve Guttenberg and I am the audiophiliac.

 This one here, this is the Hi-Fi Man Ananda planar magnetic headphone and there will be

 a mini CD review at the end of this exciting chapter of the audiophiliac daily show.

 Anyway, you know, I go way back with Hi-Fi Man and I review their very first headphone,

 the H-85, I think in 2006 or so, and it was a revelation at that time because it was the

 first planar magnetic headphone I heard.

 It's not that Fang Bian, the guy who runs Hi-Fi Man, he didn't invent planar magnetic

 headphones but he was the first to bring them back, Yamaha made planar magnetic headphones

 I think in the 70s, but Hi-Fi Man's were the first, let's say, modern planar magnetics.

 But anyway, this one here, well it kind of looks very similar to their HE1000 which was

 the first that had this basic shape, which I think is a fantastic shape because it's

 I've never quite understood the idea of round headphones because headphones ears aren't

 round and putting them around, you get the point, right, or even sometimes rectangular

 I think headphone earcups should be sort of in the ear-shaped category, I'm just saying

 But anyway, this one looks a lot like an HE1000 and it kind of looks like an HE1000V2 and

 It's a third the price of the 1000 and this one is just livelier sounding.

 It's more sensitive, it's 103 dB, it's a 25 ohm headphone, it's really easy to drive.

 Maybe that's why it's just livelier on rock, definitely on acoustic music.

 I think the HE1000 was better, it just sounded more natural and just had more to the sound.

 But this one, I don't know, I like this headphone a lot.

 Anyway, I think I've said my piece on this puppy so let's move on to the music review

 and as I said there will be more detailed information in my audiophiliac review on CNET.com

 Anyway, this one, Nucho, you know I can't pronounce this guy's name or even the name

 of this record, but this is an MA recording, that's the name of the record company and

 it was done in 1989 in Japan where Todd was living and this is the best sounding solo

 piano recording I have ever heard in my life.

 There's others that are really good, really, really good, do I have one here, I'm just

 going to use this as a comparison, oh this one.
