 The Intel i7 speed is great, perhaps overkill for non-gamers, but it's nice to have lightning-fast bootup, updates and file transfers. Battery performance and recharge time are impressive. No fan, so it's perfectly quiet. It can feel a little warm on your knees, but does not overheat

 A touch typist will have no problem. Pen functions work great, though even this compact machine is really too big and heavy to be a practical tablet. You can fold the screen over if you have an extended drawing project (I do that to hand-write music), but otherwise, just reach over the keyboard to add pen annotations. I chose Win-10 Home ("Business" includes Outlook and other resources I don't need), and an economical Student/Home Office-2019 license (Word, Excel, Ppt, OneNote)

The thing I'm struggling with is finding a laptop that is also good for things like Photoshop, which I work with quite often. I currently have a Surface Pro 4, which is cool, but it's showing it's age now and I'm getting kinda sick of the kickstand situation, lol. I've been eyeing some Thinkpads, Surface Laptops, or even a Macbook Air, but I'm open to just about anything.

For those that play mostly cheesy app based video games and less intense graphical games, you should be good. If you are trying to do some serious Photo-shop, get one with an i7 or i9 processor with a real video card in it with its own video memory. Also, get lots of notebook RAM too (no less than 16gb). A 1 Tera byte Solid State Hard Drive would be a must too

As a light weight laptop, it's a faster version of my 2012 Aspire M With Fingerprint login that is super fast to allow me to login! I tried it out even though I was skeptical and do not trust new things like that and also put in a pass code as a backup, but as long as it works is my motto these days, I'm a new fan! It lets me into my machine instantaneously. You get this option each time the login pops up, so don't worry if you don't want do use the Fingerprint login. I was just being adventurous for my age.

 Also, get lots of notebook RAM too (no less than 16gb). A 1 Tera byte Solid State Hard Drive would be a must too. That is what I upgraded my old laptop to already.

Good Quality, Light Weight, Easy Setup

HP ENVY x360 13 (2020)

This laptop is huge. But in a good way! I have been using a 7 year-old Mac Book with a 13" screen, so this was an upgrade. A couple of inches of screen size makes a huge difference! Beware when going through initial setup, Cortana is enabled. (Cortana is a voice-activated program similar to other platforms that rhyme with eerie) I found this out the hard way- I turned on the computer and left the room, then heard 'someone' talking! Eek! 

Awesome laptop / tablet combo

  The weight and size are ideal to include the ten-key.  Camera/Mic/Speaker are adequate for Zoom/Teams calls; looks and sounds great - no additional equipment needed.
