 Getting all that strength on this now, there's a reason why people say the it's the toughest strongest lock, because, in my opinion, it is that lock is so tough that this thing will fall apart before that lock fails. It is that strong and if you don't believe me, go on youtube and look up andrew demko's testings, that he's done himself waiting and hanging weights from chains and all kinds of crazy stuff off these blades. If you've ever seen cold steel's crazy over the top ridiculous advertisements, you know their marketing that they have. You know the big uh burly, biker dude, with the hard rock music going stabbing and slashing pieces of meat hanging from you, know, rope and all kinds of crazy crap

 Looking for something serious, this is the way to go. This is a fantastic knife and they've got a lot of other good stuff out there too. March 24, 2021 (Full review) Cold steel AD-10

 I also have not received any response from Cold Steel regarding my inquiry about the grind angles, but will provide any information they do send me. Overall the knife is recommended, although the quality of detail could be improved. ***************************** UPDATE ***************************** It was 4/23/22 I sent a inquiry to Cold Steel informing them of the poor quality on the blade grind and asking what the grind angle should be. Today, 4/29/22, I received a boilerplate response telling me where to contact for warranty

 Sure, I could reset the angle and make it all even myself, but why should I have to? Not when I am paying $130 for a frickin knife. I returned it for a replacement and we will see what I get. I also sent Cold Steel a message asking them what the grind angles are supposed to be on the AD10. I will update my review with what the replacement knife is like as well as any response I get from Cold Steel

 The blade grind on the knife I got was extremely uneven. Almost all of the grind was coming from one side of the blade only, like 90%. The other side had only a very shallow angle, maybe 10%. It was nearly a chisel grind

Best knife for the money I spent.

 At least there was on mine. Neither of these are much of an issue because you will find yourself flicking this one. A lot. In fact, good luck putting it down and you may want to apologize in advance to your dedicated edc, because it’s about to take a back seat

 First off, it’s not a dainty knife. This is a pocket bayonet and you feel that heft when you pick it up. Goes without saying that all of this strength comes at the price of a weighty blade. It’s not going to disappear in your pocket and you won’t forget it’s there either

 Anyway, I’m getting in the weeds here, so I’m going to wrap this up.  If you have enough interest in this one to be here and you’ve stuck it out long enough to read this amateurish write-up on how awesome I feel this knife is, you’re probably a part of the target audience and should jus hit “buy”.

Cold Steel putting the “fun” in Functional.

I worded the headline like that because if you're only going to cut apples with this, there are better options for the same price - or much, much (much) less. No need going over most of the positives as anyone reading this already knows. It's a tough lock and a beefy knife. I have medium-sized hands and it feels almost perfect in the hand; surprisingly comfortable, though you will feel the sharpness of the liners

 With the hollow ground blade (sorry, probably not available anymore except on the secondary market) it slices quite well. People seem to be divided on the newer version, but it doesn't seem to be a deal breaker for most. It came hair-popping sharp and seems to sharpen and strop up pretty well. Haven't used this steel on other knives, so have nothing nominally equal to compare it to

 I will probably smooth those down eventually. I do have to shift my hand a bit if I just want to roll it out with the thumb-stud. No big deal, because the detent is set to where it's not going to easily slip out on its own, but with a quick but firm flick, the blade will fly out without touching the thumb-stud at all. Of course, you can always help it along with the thumb-stud as you're flicking, but it's kind of six of one half dozen of the other on that score

 The weight is no problem at all. I can even carry it in sweatpants. I forget it's there in work pants. Tighter jeans, you will feel it when you sit down, but most of the time forget it's there

Great Medium to Hard Use Knife

 The flat, saber-grind is high enough to be an excellent compromise between slicing ability and durability. While tremendously strong, the blade is still an all-rounder.  Ergonomics: I find the deficiencies here minor. Your mileage may vary

  Blade: A beautifully shaped and ground hunk of S35vn steel. The point is sturdy and unlikely to break, but still provides fair penetration. The flat, saber-grind is high enough to be an excellent compromise between slicing ability and durability. While tremendously strong, the blade is still an all-rounder

 The shape of the handle alone provides a secure grip. The crisp diamond texturing provides extra traction. The handle is comfortable with no hot spots. Also, the act of gripping the handle makes the lockup even stronger

At roughly half the price of other high-end knives, the Kershaw Leek packs a pedigreed blade into a compact, assisted-opening tool. The blade is made of high-grade steel and comes sharp from the factory. Like the Mini-Barrage's assisted opening, the Leek can be opened with either thumb and can be locked closed. Kershaw has also engineered a tab on the blade's rear that allows you to deploy the blade with your index finger. The blade and handle hold up well for handy carry and light to moderate use. 
The narrow handle profile is the primary compromise with the Leek. Compared to the Mini-Barrage, the Leek is similar in many dimensions, but both the blade and the handle are thinner. Some users will appreciate the lower profile for carrying, though edge and handle thinness requires tradeoffs. The thin blade is excellent for soft and light cutting but can deform in heavy use. We had this happen early in testing. The slim handle doesn't comfortably support heavy pushing. Still, this is a beautiful and functional knife; quality steel at a steal.

 This is the Kershaw Spring Assisted Leak. This knife has been around so long that my mother

 actually gave me one of these for Christmas. Before there was even a BladeHQ, I hadn't started

 BladeHQ yet. I got a Rainbow Leak, loved that knife. That is how timeless this knife is.

 It's been around since before BladeHQ existed. So that is a testament to this design by Ken

 Onion. Hi Ken, by the way, over in Hawaii with your hot wife. Great job on this.

 Anyway, so here's a skinny on the Kershaw Leak. This has the 14C2 8N stainless steel blade. The

 body on this knife is 410 stainless steel. It's a frame lock, which is kind of nice. I like frame

 locks. And then this has Kershaw's patented SpeedSafe technology. So you close the knife,

 you give the flipper a push, knife takes over, opens up the blade. It is spring assisted.

 It also has the ambidextrous thumb stud. You can open it with either hand. Pocket clip, reversible.

 Tip up, tip down. Not front or back, but tip up, tip down. And this also has a safety here on the

 bottom. So you slide this over and then that locks there on top of the blade and the knife
