Undoubtedly best budget PC speakers for miles in all directions. No competition comes close for that price. And to think they came out a decade ago.

The UE costs $2,000 while the XM4 costs $200. The XM4 sounds amazing, not as good as the UE Live, but still amazing. It's with every penny. In the big scheme of things, this pair of Klipsch is on the low end in the hifi world in terms of price

That's great for entertaining, cleaning, and puttering around the house, but far too loud to work comfortably. Fiddling with the woofer-to-speaker balance, I was able to push mids/highs in a way that provided a better overall sound quality with only a small amount of bass sacrifice

The Fives literally blew away the 1's because of their bigger size. When the 1's were at full volume, the Fives had similar sound levels at about 60% slider. *However*, at the same *'Absolute volume'* level The clarity of Play 1's seemed a tiny bit *more* than the Fives as The Fives had more bass and punch to them as compared to 1's. This obviously diminished as the 1's were pushed to higher volumes (Above 70%)

But as far as this set goes I'll give it a 4 star, because I do not like having to get up and turn the sound up, man they need a remote I didn't think about that when I bought these for my G.daughter and another con is why isn't there a on - off switch??? I have it hooked up to a surge protector but that turns everything off so I have to un-plug them when I leave the room, I don't watch TV back there everyday but if I did which then maybe I wouldn't. I think I will wait till the warranty goes out and will open up the Sub and install a off-on switch that should be in there. I find thou that I can adjust the volume some what thru the TV when I set the volume on the speaker control to about 60 percent and use the remote to adjust some which works for me right now, but I'm looking into getting my electronic friend to help me fix a remote for the speakers their self, like he said he could do something that will work, I guess 45 years doing what he does for a living pays off for me maybe

I also had to spend time troubleshooting the HDMI connection, which stopped working after about 10 days. The problem turned out to be a streaming device that interfered with the HDMI signal going to the speakers, so I have had to work around that. If the speakers were plug and play as they should be, they would be worth five stars. They are worth only three stars because of the capricious update procedure, the clunkiness of the Klipsch Updater and Klipsch Connect apps, and the lack of documentation that Klipsch should have made available to help with troubleshooting

I also noticed that the bass with the klipsch was working as if in a seperate level from any music being played. With T4 any music being played sounded harmonically. If you prefer nonstop booming than get the Klipsch Promedia or the Logitech Z623, but try out the Creative T4. They might be in the same class as the bose companion speakers but with better bass

The old units subwoofer would literally shake the doors on the dresser it was sitting next to in my room with the volume set less than halfway. This new unit with the volume for the subwoofer completely maxed is ridiculously quiet. Now to be fair the sound is super crisp and as you increase the master volume the subwoofer does give off a more powerful sound but unfortunately for those who want nice full sounding bass at lower volumes are not going to get the result they desire. I saw an older review here that mentioned they thought the unit they received was a knock off and honestly if I was basing my judgement solely off the sound I’d be inclined to agree that it’s similar but not quite the same as my previous unit

Well, volume and bass is more than half the battle won since the One relies heavily on DSP for its bass response, and has very little headroom to play loud. The Five unsurprisingly also goes much lower, low enough that you probably wouldn't need a subwoofer for most music.

Still, it would have been nice to have more rounded edges like the SoundSticks III (which you shouldn't buy, I'll explain in a minute). P.S. don't forget to apply the rubber feet included in the box to the bottom of the sub, otherwise it will shake on the floor and sound weird

Almost everyone here recommends studio monitors (ie. Adam T5V/T8V) but OP has specifically separated them from consumer speakers like the Edifier. I also separate them because of aesthetics: studio monitors do sound really good, but they don't look that good on a living room. :)

Bluetooth quality sounds great to me (as good as Bluetooth can sound, which is actually not better than using the 3.5mm)

I’m running Klipsch The Fives bookshelf speakers and two wireless 10” subs in a large room. I can’t imagine needing more really. The bookshelves hit 114db I think and the dual subs are quite satisfying.

I bought 3 sets ofthese Xbox mini-heatsinks , and applied them to the hotspot. It barely even gets warm to the touch now.

Bluetooth pairing was good. Sounded ok. Didn’t compare to Airplay. I can hear compression
