I don't do camera backpacks so I don't have a recommendation there other than try to keep your bag under 30L, even better if you can do 25L. Whatever you do you will be carrying a lot on travel days, think 6-12 miles. Make sure you have comfortable shoes. And a plan for rain

The Fives literally blew away the 1's because of their bigger size. When the 1's were at full volume, the Fives had similar sound levels at about 60% slider. *However*, at the same *'Absolute volume'* level The clarity of Play 1's seemed a tiny bit *more* than the Fives as The Fives had more bass and punch to them as compared to 1's. This obviously diminished as the 1's were pushed to higher volumes (Above 70%)

5 out of 10 they make the floor shake. At 3 out of 10 they're almost too loud to stay near without protection. At the mythical 10 out of 10 (the most we've done is 5, and that was for a party spanning 5x1 acres), the math puts it at about a conversation's level a half mile away. They're stupid and loud and indestructible and I plan to take them with me to the grave

Well, volume and bass is more than half the battle won since the One relies heavily on DSP for its bass response, and has very little headroom to play loud. The Five unsurprisingly also goes much lower, low enough that you probably wouldn't need a subwoofer for most music.

For refinement, I would consider at the Klipsch Three II (or the smaller brother the One II) a reviewer who's usually into HiFi (Zero Fidelity) who's usually into HiFi stuff actually said it was decent.

Almost everyone here recommends studio monitors (ie. Adam T5V/T8V) but OP has specifically separated them from consumer speakers like the Edifier. I also separate them because of aesthetics: studio monitors do sound really good, but they don't look that good on a living room. :)

Echo/Alexa customer service is excellent! Pros for Klipsch the One II bluetooth speaker: I give it 3.5/5 for good to very good sound at low/medium volume. I own other Klipsch speakers that are 5/5, excellent. Cons for Klipsch the One II: At higher volumes, I heard distortion

A real shame that such a good idea --- a reasonably priced high-quality beautifully designed bluetooth speaker --- is ruined by caving to the perception of market demand for artificially pumped up bass. The result is a boxy bass and such an imbalance at the expense of the higher frequencies that you think there's a missing tweeter. Making matters worse, there is a single "hot spot" in the upper range.

I’m running Klipsch The Fives bookshelf speakers and two wireless 10” subs in a large room. I can’t imagine needing more really. The bookshelves hit 114db I think and the dual subs are quite satisfying.

Bluetooth dongles are amazing - I use a Fiio BTR3 as a slightly cheaper alternative to the BTR5/Qudelix 5K. Any of those should have enough power for pretty much anything you throw at it, and they'll give you a bit of wireless convenience while keeping excellent sound. From there it depends on your IEM (or closed-back) preferences.

I also had to spend time troubleshooting the HDMI connection, which stopped working after about 10 days. The problem turned out to be a streaming device that interfered with the HDMI signal going to the speakers, so I have had to work around that. If the speakers were plug and play as they should be, they would be worth five stars. They are worth only three stars because of the capricious update procedure, the clunkiness of the Klipsch Updater and Klipsch Connect apps, and the lack of documentation that Klipsch should have made available to help with troubleshooting

So much really nice-sounding sound from a "bookshelf" sized unit! I thought this of The One I that I had (it died), and The One II is, in many ways, better: The highs are clearer, the mids more open and musical. And the bass: well, there's a lot of it. And it's nice-sounding, relatively low-distortion base -- pretty tight. But I wish I had my The One I back, because even if it was not quite as good a system, it was more natural sounding in the bass

The treble is articulate and reveals all of the music and vocals you want to hear. This is a great product for someone who wants to get great sound without a typical looking plastic bluetooth speaker.

I hope they will provide e an app for EQ in the future. But then, I can always adjust the EQ on my phone. For now, the treble is just right

I love the mid-century look so I chose some Sonny Rollins for the debut listen. It did not disappoint. Very happy with this purchase.

I bought a new turntable and was waiting to hear mind blowing sound. These are ok, good. An 7-8ish to me.
