 Spend a little more, get a better quality steel fixed blade, and you'll have a better experience. Remember: there's nothing more dangerous than a dull knife. The edge is hair, popping sharp and with the scandy grind, it's very very nice here i'll show you how it cuts some iron wood right here, i'm in an ironwood forest next to the ocean and, as you can see no problems, i can make a spear very Quick there's, actually some tide pools just down there. Mora Basic 546 review

 My money would be with the more sheath wise they thrown a budget. We started out doing some sort of forest for children most definitely considered a more 5:46 cheap, cheerful, great finger protection, a solid all-around performer. The Gransfors Small Splitting Axe can be used for medium-sized firewood. It is forged and ground to a concave, quite thin blade at the bit. The axe cuts quickly and easily into the wood and then effectively splits it as the broader section pushes apart the wood. The handle has a protective steel collar below the axe head and circular grooves towards the end for an extra firm grip. Splitting Axes should not be used for striking a wedge or as a wedge.  I can take a grinder to it if it really bugged me but it doesn't.  Leather Sheath: I dont have the issues some others have voice where it comes out even when the button is clasped. It's soft and will age well after continue care and applying leather conditioner oil.  Axe handle: I was a bit confused at first with the circular grooves but after reading the description on the Gransfor Bruk site it makes sense

 The handle seems very strong, tightly grained hickory with excellent orientation.  I find working with it to be pure joy. I'll grant that it is expensive, but in this case I think you get what you pay for. I would buy it again in a heartbeat

Great Little Axe

 I use this ax nearly every single day. It’s an ideal size for having near a wood stove or furnace. I have mine in a small corridor next to my wood stove that’s used to hold wood pre-burn. The ceiling is low (about 6’4”) due to ductwork

 If you’re looking for something that you can handle and will occasionally split small amounts of timber you’ll want this. Worth every penny.

I contacted both Kenco and Gransfors in order to remedy this situation but have not heard from them in over 9 days. This is truly unfortunate because, though my experience with Gransfors has been positive thus far, I'm left wondering if this was a vendor issue or if it was manufactured incorrectly. Regardless, the premium price that Gransfors Bruk charges for their axes leaves one hoping that a quality issue such as this would not be overlooked
