We see the rtx 3060 was good for just 61 fps on average, making it slightly slower than the previous generation radeon rx 5700 xt, which is very disappointing to see in an nvidia sponsored title, we're basically looking at rtx 2070 like performance here so 500 us gpu Performance from three years ago, the margins are fairly similar at 1440p, at least relative to other geforce gpus, such as the rtx 2070. The 3060 does manage to match the 5700 xt here

 [, Music. ]! Welcome back to harvard unboxed today i am finally checking out nvidia's new geforce rtx 3060.. It was officially released about two weeks ago now, but i was taking a break with my family and a delay on nvidia's m with the driver due to the unfortunate circumstances in texas meant that i wasn't able to complete my review before i left on the plus Side, though, this has allowed us to take a more accurate look at pricing and availability, but of course we will have all the usual array of benchmarks to go over and i'll jump into that in a moment before that, though, let's quickly talk about the geforce rtx 3060, the new 330 us offering from nvidia but of course, you're unlikely to find it at that price anytime soon, due to the ongoing global pandemic trade war and cryptocurrency mining boom, so yeah we're kind of dealing with some stuff right now

 It does well enough just a 13 deficit here, though we are only at 1080p. Above at the 30 60 ti, and yet does pack a bit more vram, but at this price point i think eight gigabytes is still enough, at least for now, but vram aside, the rtx 3060 really has very little going for it again, assuming the msrp is met For rtx 2060 owners, it's a very small upgrade and it's almost a side grade for 2060 super owners, while it's a downgrade for anyone with a 5700 xt if you're coming as far back as pascal and owner gtx, 1060 or even a 1070, the rtx 3060 is A decent upgrade in terms of performance but you'd be far better off spending a little bit more money on the ti version or waiting to see what amd does at this price point, but don't get me wrong. The rtx 3060 certainly isn't a bad product. It'S technically very good: it's just the price, that's a letdown here, ideally, in my opinion, it needs to be at least 50 us less, but that also brings us to the current market situation

At 1080p, the RTX 3060 Ti is an absolute champion at ray tracing, and you don&rsquo;t have to worry about unplayable frame rates at 1080p, or really even 1440p with DLSS enabled.

I am 7 days away from getting the Zephyrus G14 and I want to know if it is the right decision.

 So a good cooling solution is needed, especially when this version of the card comes with a remarkable 210 megahertz factory, overclock more on that in a bit ports wise. We get the same three display ports and hdri 2.0, as the founders edition, plus the usbc virtual link. Like the msi armor, for example, and then at the other end, you have cards like the gaming z here, which have a monstrous factory overclock

. It'S a bit of a monster in pretty much every single way. Now it's big, it's heavy, has a custom pcb high quality materials throughout and an accomplished cooler. The tu-106 chip isn't that much smaller than 1080 tis about 445 square millimeters versus 471

 Well, let's wrap this up. I don't think rtx 2070 has the immediate impact, the immediate appeal that 1070 and 970 had back in the past, and you know, let's make no bones about it. The tu-106 chip is bigger, more advanced and costlier to produce, and the memory is more expensive too, and so we are looking at gtx 1080 money for a product that, in many situations only offers gtx 1080 performance. Some might say that in rasterization terms, it's a side step, and you know what well maybe we should just wait a while just to see how raid face performance stacks up and to see just how much of a game changer dlss is gon na be personally, i Do feel the momentum is there to see these new features being utilized? Maybe at that point we start to feel some of the 70 line magic arrive with turing, okay, so i'm going to wrap things up then

 But little to no software that uses them outside of some demos so take rate facing, for example, now at the rtx launch event, we did actually get to see some early demos and games running on 2080 ti hardware. So at least there was some idea of performance targets and whatnot, but the 2070 only offers around 60 percent of the rate-facing power of the 2080 ti. So we're kind of left in the dark here about how real-life performance is going to shape up, though battlefield 5's recommended specs include the 2070s, so maybe we'll be okay, but right now we don't know dlss, though nvidia's extraordinary, upscaling technology. Well, we can at least benchmark that and the specs look impressive and it kind of needs to be impressive, because in common with the rtx 2080 standard 3d performance is actually closely matched to the last gen nvidia card

As usual, i'm using our corsair gpu test system inside the crystal series: 570x, with the core i7 8700k clocked at 5, gigahertz and 32 gigabytes of vengeance, ddr4 3400 memory for the amd gpus.  That is the suggested price for this card, but, as i said, we'll see what happens when they go on sale shortly. Then there's also the much less attractive 600 us price for the nvidia foundation model and that's also what i believe the price will be for the gaming zed card. So for most of the aib models, the entry level ones. We are expecting a 30 decrease in price when compared to the rtx 2080 models and they have about a 33 decrease in cuda cores nvidia's own review guide shows the rtx 2070 easily beating the gtx 1070 and then the 970 that came before it, though that is A little misleading as it is priced to compete with the gtx 1080 and vega 64, so not the gtx 1070

 So a couple of days you'll see that and then before then he will be doing a full recap of gpu pricing. Just like you did with cpu pricing uh yesterday, so it'll be worth keeping up for, and we will have more solid information on rtx 2070 pricing for that video, and with that i am going to end this one.
