With its silver backing and white square keys, it mimics the design of the Apple Magic keyboard, but at a fraction of the price. It is a standard size, and typing is intuitive and easy. The keys have a longer travel time than on the actual Apple Magic keyboard and can be a bit "chatty" at higher typing speeds, but some might like the thicker feel over the thin membrane-style keys of the recent MacBooks. The shortcuts are also MacOS specific, but the keyboard will work with Windows or Android devices. We were impressed by its Bluetooth range, operating up to 20 feet away, outperforming more expensive models. 
The keyboard is also constructed entirely of plastic, which gives it a "knock-off" feel, but still looks and performs exceptionally well. It is powered by batteries that are not included, which is more inconvenient than any other models tested &mdash; most keyboards were rechargeable, and usually, the ones that required batteries came with a set already in place. Additionally, this model could only connect to one device at a time, unlike some of the other models that allow you to switch between devices. Overall though, we felt this keyboard is a great choice for those on a budget, especially those fond of Apple product designs.

 In this case both Amazon and the vendor were on top of the situation as soon as they heard about it.  Companies that sell $15 keyboards can not afford many warranty claims. They have to design their products so that the failure rate is very low or they wont make any money. That is why I have had such good experience , with inexpensive electronic devices

The vendor was also monitoring my situation and quickly offered to replace the defective unit. But Amazon had already taken care of the problem. UPDATE on November 3  My problems with this keyboard have been resolved. The replacement is working perfectly.  With this keyboard I just need to keep a couple of AAA batteries with my traveling stuff and I can be back in business in seconds.  This is a good keyboard. Its light, easy to pair with devices, the keys have a nice feel (but that is a very personal thing) and the battery life is good. I use it with my phone and tablet

UPDATED REVIEW Having problems with this one.  Had one before with no problems

 It seems fine. At about one fifth the cost of an actual Apple magic keyboard, something had to give.  To be fair, this keyboard isn't really advertised to fully work with MacOS. But it mostly looks like a MacOS keyboard so I figured it probably would work

  Like I said, I'll update this review when I get the MacOS specific version to let you know if that works as desired.

The media could not be loaded. Alright, I’ve spent the last month using this and I figured I would give my review. I’ll do my best to give a few characteristics that I feel are important and then I’ll leave a summary at the end. Feel free to skip to the summary if you don’t want to read all of this

 I’ve left the keyboard on for days at a time, because I forgot to turn it off and it still works a month after I purchased it.  Ease of use: I use this with my iPad Pro and it took a few seconds in order for it to sync with my Bluetooth. I have no complaints about this aspect of the keyboard.  Summary: I’m going to rank this product five stars, because I never have any issues out of the keyboard (no malfunctions, major problems, defects, etc) and it gets the job done

 The keys felt good and the batteries only had to be changed once in a year (I use this 4-5 days a week for an hour or two).  Lately the keyboard just stopped connecting on its own. Now when I want to use it I have to hit the connect button and go into BT setting on my iPad and manually connect it. Kind of a bummer

Some things also seemingly don't make sense: the Gamma Zulu switches have shorter travel and require less actuation than Cherry MX Blue switches, yet I found the Blues to be less fatigue-inducing and the Gamma Zulus the most.

I've now gone through about five different mechanical keyboards with different switch types: Cherry MX Brown, Cherry MX Blue, Greetech Brown, "Gamma Zulu" (supposedly a variant of Logitech Romer G switch type, somewhat comparable with Cherry MX Red), and LK Optical Blue (which I'm using on my Keychron K4, my current keyboard).  I suppose a sixth type I've used were Cherry MX Blue with silencers installed (which I ended up removing after a few weeks, as I didn't like the way it changed the feel).  My conclusion is that the switch type has a lot to do with it, but there are other variables involved too.  The keyboard chassis and keys, themselves, seem to contribute to the feel.  Some things also seemingly don't make sense: the Gamma Zulu switches have shorter travel and require less actuation than Cherry MX Blue switches, yet I found the Blues to be less fatigue-inducing and the Gamma Zulus the most.  The other issue is that it's often not obvious from just randomly mashing a few keys or typing a few sentences which switch type you'll like the best.  Often I'd need to use a keyboard for a few hours before going to a different keyboard, and only then would I really feel the difference.

Rambling aside, the answer to your question is: go with the Browns.  Brown is a good all-rounder switch type for gaming and typing.  It also gives you the audio effect without being super noisy.

Even though I ended up going for Blue-style keys over the past year, I sometimes go back to my very first mechanical keyboard - a G.Skill KM780 with Cherry MX Brown switches - and it really feels the absolute best to type on.  If they offered it in a Mac layout I'd probably just buy a Mac version and be done with it.  Either way, it has me thinking that Browns might really be the best overall, again...

About a year ago I bought a Hyperx Alloy Elite RGB and to say it served me well would be an understatement. Being my first real Cherry MX Blue keyboard (not some weird knockoff) it has been an absolute blast to use and I would love to continue using it.

i’ve had my heart set on getting a blackwidow v2 TE because i love the clicky switches and have enjoyed using similar razer keyboards in the past. my question is, are the switches loud enough to be heard through a closed door? if so, does this travel very far away from the room? i don’t want to bother my sister across the hall or my mom in the room above mine. any and all answers are appreciated, thanks a ton.

I was wondering if I could just get some advice. Is it cheaper to buy a prebuilt keyboard or cheaper to buy all the parts and assemble myself? I’m already building my own PC for the first time so I don’t necessarily want to spend too much more money but I do want a nice keyboard. Will be using my pc to game and stream. I was looking at 65% keyboards. Prebuilt ones i was looking at ducky one 2 sf and drop alt ones. I know that only the drop alt is hot swappable if i wanted to customize the keyboard more later on (which i would like to replace key caps later if i get a prebuilt one). Would love and appreciate any and all advice. Thank you!

I thought about buying it to replace my redragon kala keyboard which served me about 3 years. I am going to buy this keyboard for one thing, the rgb and its price. The rgb looks really good on the warmer colors and would look great with the pudding keycaps. The one thing that is delaying my buy is the swtiches. I dont know what sound the switch produces and they dont have any test switch kits. Im not sure which switch i should buy, the red one or the brown one. On paper they seem the same with the same actuation force but the red one is linear the the brown one is tactile. I cant find any videos of all the switch variants and dont know which switch to buy. If anyone here could guide me to a video or could tell me what is the difference between those two switches i would be very happy. Thanks in advance :).

I got a drop ctrl and   when i plug it in, all the keys dont work as they should. none of the number keys work and it seems that different letters do different things other than the letter its supposed to press. Is there something i have to download or configure with this board?   The weird thing is, when i plug in my other keyboard, it does the same thing after having the ctrl installed.  tried on two windows machines

I'm new to PCs and keyboards so this may be a dumb question, but if a keyboard is "usb c" does that mean the USB cord is USB C to regular USB? I'm looking at the RK61 and Anne Pro 2. Asking because I think I read that the motherboard/case I just got doesn't have a USB C port

Can I desolder a board with Alps skcm switches to put on a hotswappable board? (GMMK, massdrop ctrl, etc). I’m thinking of using it as a all-round keyboard (gaming, work)

I'm looking for a mechanical keyboard but can't seem to find one that matches my needs, I've been looking at the Massdrop CTRL but I'd appreciate any other recommendations

1. Definitely a clicky/tactile switch
2. TKL or smaller but not as small as 60%
3. RGB or lighting is not important but would be a nice touch
4. USB C connectivity 
5. 200 dollars or less

Trying to decided between a full assembled tofu 60% acrylic keyboard (zealios v2 switches) with YMDK 9009 key caps from amazon for a total of $300USD or a custom Varmilo keyboard (zealios v2 switches) which includes key caps for a total of $255. I like the aesthetic of the first one a lot more(case options and key cap options are my ideal look while with the Varmilo I just settled for a look I don’t 100% like but I know that they don’t lube the switches for the tofu and for the Varmilo they do and the total for this one is $255USD. I’m just wondering quality and build wise which one you guys recommend more. Aesthetically I like the tofu 60 more but it is a little over my price budget of $260. Any and all advice is really appreciated.
