If you don't need a Numpad, the best TenKeyLess budget mechanical keyboard we've tested is the Redragon K552 KUMARA RGB. This TKL board has a small desk footprint, leaving you with more space for notebooks or mouse movements. Surprisingly, it has full RGB backlighting that's customizable, which is fairly uncommon for cheap mechanical keyboards.

This keyboard only comes with clicky Outemu Blue switches, which provide a satisfying audible click. Also, the typing experience overall is decent, as the keys feel stable, and the keycaps feel nice to the touch. It also has a Windows lock feature, so you won't accidentally minimize games or media by pressing the Windows key.

Unfortunately, the click of the switches doesn't align with the actuation point, which could be a bit odd if you rely on the click to know when a key's been registered. The switches are heavy to press, meaning you might experience fatigue during long stretches of use. Also, its latency is pretty high, so it's not a good choice for playing fast-paced FPS games. With that said, it's a good choice if you're looking for a starter mechanical keyboard with a smaller form factor.

For an inexpensive keyboard with mechanical switches, check out the Redragon K552 Mechanical. This gaming keyboard is tenkeyless and uses Outemu Blue Key mechanical switches. These switches are far superior to rubber dome switches. Although, they can be less consistent between keys compared to some switches. The keys on this board are backlit and come with 19 lighting presets. Eight of these presets group keys by color for gaming-specific organization. You can also customize which keys stay illuminated, and save these settings to two different profiles. It also has a 12-key rollover. 
The K552 does not have any software to support it, though. It also doesn't have any standalone macro keys, media keys, USB passthrough ports, nor does it have a palm rest. This mechanical gaming device balances size, performance, and price. If you're looking for a mechanical keyboard that won't break the bank, check this model out.

 F1 through F12 are your media controls if thats what you're looking for. Overall, I recommend this board by far if you want something clicky, tactile, and loud. If you want a similar feel but quieter, take a look at Browns and other switches. Oh and it does not bend, quality is top notch for the price, and I'm not saying that as if you should expect a compromise in quality, this is a fine product and worth every dollar

 Lighting level is adjustable as well. So far, for the price, I'm beyond satisfied. I mentioned this in another review, but you can not go wrong with Redragon if you want to avoid paying double, sometimes triple the cost for a good key board. One tier adjustable height with legs, built in cord board side, but there's screws so I assume you could detach the cable from the board if you so choose

 The RBG choices are plentiful and beautiful, from solid colors to rainbow, and even changing direction, you can't go wrong if you like colors. The key caps themselves light up, as well as a boarder around the keys. Lighting level is adjustable as well. So far, for the price, I'm beyond satisfied

 The Kamara features a metal and ABS construction. The keyboard feels weighty and robust with a metal top plate and plastic bottom piece. I really like the compact frame of the Kamara. There is no wasted space and it has a very sleek look

 The Redragon K552 Kamara is one of the best selling keyboards on Amazon. It's a TKL board that comes with clicky blue switches, but you can also get it with the red switches. I've always been impressed with the Redragon's bang for buck peripherals, and the Kamara is another excellent budget board. At this price range, I'm always worried about flimsy build quality, but that is definitely not the case here

 There does seem to be software for the Kamora, but after a long struggle with compatibility modes and the keyboard not being detected, I gave up on installing it. Definitely something Redragon needs to work on. It shouldn't be such an arduous process trying to install software. The Kamora is currently going for around $40, which is an absolute steal

Redragon K552 Kumara Review - YouTube

 Redragon K552 Kamara is one of the best selling keyboards on Amazon. It's a TKL board that

 comes with clicky blue switches, but you can also get it with the red switches. I've always

 been impressed with the Redragon's bang for buck peripherals, and the Kamara is another

 excellent budget board. At this price range, I'm always worried about

 flimsy build quality, but that is definitely not the case here. The Kamara features a metal

 and ABS construction. The keyboard feels weighty and robust with a metal top plate and plastic

 bottom piece. I really like the compact frame of the Kamara. There is no wasted space and

 it has a very sleek look. What I do find odd though is how far the frame stretches past

 the mounting plate, so you don't get that nice raised key profile.

 The bottom of the keyboard features two rubber feet and two fold outs with rubber bottoms.

 The keyboard sat quite firmly on the desk. The Kamara has the standard ANSI layout and

 OEM profile. Using FN with F1-12 allows you to do multimedia control and there is quick

 access to the browser and calculator. I would have liked volume control on the F9-12 segment

 as it allows me to do volume control with one hand, but that's just me.

 The rainbow backlighting is very vibrant and it is an attractive keyboard, barring the

 font. As I've said previously, I'm not a big fan of the Redragon font, and this keyboard

 would have looked a lot better with thin and clean legends. But it does seem that Redragon

 are moving towards thinner fonts with the release of the K530 Draconic, so that's good to see.

 By pressing FN with 1-6 you can change the backlighting scheme and you can also adjust

 the speed, direction and colour. There are about 20 different colour schemes to choose

 from. Also there are 5 levels of brightness which you can control by pressing FN with

 up or down arrow. As per usual, I popped on my HyperX white pudding keycaps and was actually

 very pleased with the end result. I really like the compact frame on the Kamora.

 The Kamora offers a very good typing experience. I believe the switches are Otemu blues, although

 they have the Redragon branding. These are tactile and clicky switches with an actuation

 force of 60 grams. Very satisfying to type on and I found myself

 making less typos due to the feedback of each individual keypress. These switches are a bit

 too heavy for me though as I usually use linear switches with an actuation force of 45 grams,

 so after extensive use I did experience some finger fatigue. I was still able to hit a

 max speed of 131 words per minute on the Aesop typing test and on TypeRacer I averaged around

 90 words per minute. What impressed me the most here was the stabilizers.

 The stabs are very good and the rattle is minimal. It's very rare to find a budget

 make with good stabs, so a big thumbs up to Redragon here. I was especially impressed

 with the spacebar. Gaming performance was good as well, but again

 I didn't feel very comfortable with the heavier blue switches and felt a bit slower with the

 whilst movement in CSGO. In case you don't know yet, this keyboard

 is loud and it will always be loud, in the morning when you wake up and when you're

 clacking away at midnight and everyone is asleep, so make sure the noise isn't going

 to be a problem. I think every keyboard lover has a soft spot
