you get great steel for the price too, for such a large blade in S30V, compared to some other companies using S30V in their blades *cough* Benchmade *cough*, you get much more of the premium steel for the blade and the blade is pretty dang chunky compared to the other Spyderco mainstays like the Delica/Endura. The blade comes uncomfortably sharp from the factory and being that its S30V, it will be moderately easy to keep it that sharp. Ive cut myself already on this blade. In short, it's overbuilt for box cutting and package opening--but it will certainly handle those kinds of tasks. But for what it is, a rock-solid folder and a huge hunk of very sharp S35vn, it's a great knife. What this knife is not: it's not a toy. If you need a fidget toy, this is not your best choice

What makes this knife so pricey is the fantastic blade steel and "Made in U.S.A" status. Overall unless you have to have an American made Knife I would look at their Taiwanese and Japanese or even Chinese made knives first if you can get over the inferior materials

I think I've had pistols that are smaller than this knife. It wasn't the length that got me, it was the height. Just too big for a pocket. Having said that, the handle was great
