Try a spyderco para 3 Lightweight for getting an idea what you like & don't like regarding weight, size, blade shape, lock type, ergonomics and function. That's a good baseline for all those things at $105 on Amazon (choose a color and made in USA!). I started with the g10 version and it destroyed my jeans pockets but really helped to identify requirements in those categories.

The handle is really light, which makes the knife very uncomfortable to open. the pocket clip stinks on it too, and it felt nothing like a smaller verison of my PM2. My hand slipped a lot using the FRN handle and the steel of that version (which is not S30V) just felt off to me
