There is, there is a custom rain cover and the custom part is important because that lets you have a rain cover that works with that rotation portion of the bag. So the cover will fit on there and still allow you to access that inner belt pack get to your most critical gear

 I just pulled the thing out: i'm leaving everything, as is i kind of leave the zippers open on the stashmaster when i have it in the bag. There is a safety strap here that connects across the top, so i wouldn't have this flap like open up. Surprisingly, on me and have any gear spill out, i can always zip it closed. If i want to another way, is to take out there's a foam insert inside the top part of this dash master

 here. It's got the big Ykk zippers that are weather sealed and it's got this lip that goes over it so you don't have to worry about your gear getting wet or ruined. This bag is definitely going to protect it. if you want some extra protection

 You've got your sternum strap there as well, and then you've got your load straps here, which help pull the bag closer to your back. So when you've got it all dialed in with the waist belt and the shoulder straps, it's extremely comfortable. You're not going to feel the pain in your shoulders. It takes the load and sits it on your hips

 They do offer a rain jacket that's sold separately. I don't have that and I'm not really sure that you need it unless you're gonna really be beating this thing and have it out some heavy, heavy rain. But even then it's pretty water resistant so I wouldn't necessarily worry about that when it comes to comfort, this bag is designed really well. 1. The small daypack isn't big enough to hold much. My 14" laptop barely fit in it and there is maybe enough space in the main compartment for a light jacket. There aren't pockets to hold much else

Could be good, it depends on what you are looking for

 Thule puts a lot of thought into their packs!  This bag has a lot of features - I won't go over them since they are in the other reviews and the videos.  One big feature that I missed between the 40L and the 60L is that the main bag of the 60L does not have a laptop compartment like the 40L. That was actually one of the features that I originally wanted in a 40L carry-on pack. Instead, the laptop compartment is in the padded sleeve of the piggybacked 20L bag

I purchased the 60L version for one bag air travel, and overall am very happy with it. I've owned a Thule laptop backpack for several years and the features and quality are outstanding.  That was actually one of the features that I originally wanted in a 40L carry-on pack. Instead, the laptop compartment is in the padded sleeve of the piggybacked 20L bag. At first I was disappointed, but then it was pointed out to me that with air travel, the main bag could go in the overhead bin and the 20L bag would be the personal item stored under seat, providing easy access to the laptop and other items in the 20L. It makes sense, and probably one of the reasons why Thule did this, as well as provide a front carry option for the 20L (to keep the laptop weight closer to your body)

5 week vacation. Also, the padding on the straps (both backpack and daypack) are minimal: was sufficient for carrying the full pack through the airport and on short walks from train stations to hotels, but would be very uncomfortable to carry the full pack for an entire day because of the lack of padding. Also, the chest strap on the daypack does not attach very well. As a result, it fell off and was lost very soon into my trip

I bought this for a 2.5 week trip to Europe. Pros: no problem bringing it onboard as a carry-on, loved the snap-on and off daypack, held everything I needed. Cons: the buckles are very cheaply made and the waist buckle cracked literally the 3rd time I inserted it, making it very difficult to use for the 2

 Genius! The pocketed mesh side zips so those items won’t fall out either. Genius again!  I appreciate the water bottle pocket. It easily holds my 32oz. Stainless Steel insulated Yeti but is better suited for something the size of a 24 oz

 This Thule Landmark is designed so that packing it will not force weight into a single area but distribute it evenly for greater comfort. Genius yet again!

So what are those niggling issues? * The design of the main flap is that it doesn't open all the way so that you have to kind of wedge your clothes into the bag. Like a glass that narrows at the top

 * Enough compartments and where you'd want them. In the main compartment there is a flat storage on the main flap, a hidden flat pocket at the top side (hidden cash or passport pocket). Tablet slot that's easy to get to from the outer side. Top pocket (Safety Zone) that's crush resistant and has multiple internal sections for things like travel docs, charging cables and other bits and bobs

This is a very good backpack, I would say it's borderline perfect except for a coupling niggling things, that like sand in your shoes, could really grate if you let them. Here are the pros and cons as I see them. There are so many well thought out features here it's hard to get them al listed: * Comfortable. Straps and back are well padded

Fits well, easy to use, not too big and most importantly works as two a carry on and a personal item for flights. Large pack easily fits into smaller overhead compartments in smaller planes like a CRJ700.

My wife and I have 10+ years with our Thule backpacks and I fully expect this bag to be up to the longevity of our other Thule bags
