You know just kind of uh fluid and squishy and the newer bag it's just firmer and has a better shape to it overall, so uh slightly slightly thicker, which means there's slightly more capacity in there all said and done. These are both 34 liter bags and i don't know why we measure bag capacity in liters - it's, i guess kind of, like we measure light and candle power, but anyway it's it's a good sized bag. This is the medium-sized bag of the rotation series

 They really are uh same height, really about the same width. The uh, you know the strapping is all good. The stitching is all good. All of those things are, the same

 You just want to get that gear quickly, take a couple of photos and continue with your hike. We'Ve talked about fit and finish and construction, a capacity of both the inner pouch, as well as the top part of the bag, the pouches and accesses on the side. Tripod mounts: what else can i tell you about this bag? There is, there is a custom rain cover and the custom part is important because that lets you have a rain cover that works with that rotation portion of the bag. So the cover will fit on there and still allow you to access that inner belt pack get to your most critical gear

 I just pulled the thing out: i'm leaving everything, as is i kind of leave the zippers open on the stashmaster when i have it in the bag. There is a safety strap here that connects across the top, so i wouldn't have this flap like open up. Surprisingly, on me and have any gear spill out, i can always zip it closed. If i want to another way, is to take out there's a foam insert inside the top part of this dash master

 here. It's got the big Ykk zippers that are weather sealed and it's got this lip that goes over it so you don't have to worry about your gear getting wet or ruined. This bag is definitely going to protect it. if you want some extra protection

 You've got your sternum strap there as well, and then you've got your load straps here, which help pull the bag closer to your back. So when you've got it all dialed in with the waist belt and the shoulder straps, it's extremely comfortable. You're not going to feel the pain in your shoulders. It takes the load and sits it on your hips

 They do offer a rain jacket that's sold separately. I don't have that and I'm not really sure that you need it unless you're gonna really be beating this thing and have it out some heavy, heavy rain. But even then it's pretty water resistant so I wouldn't necessarily worry about that when it comes to comfort, this bag is designed really well. You've got three big panels here on the back that are cushioned

 Pretty heavy. Walked for hours, up and down beaches and trails in the woods and I never really felt it at all. So when it comes to comfort, this bag is really well designed and you're going to like it. Let's take a look at the exterior pockets and features

 This mesh is over a squishy green foam material, so we get some better breathability on this back panel and it's just a little more comfortable on the shoulder blades. With these two panels.  You know when i'm traveling with it somewhere on a day-to-day basis when i'm just out walking with one of these rotation packs. I don't need to use that zipper, and that means when you do get it out, and you want to access your camera much faster. Actually, just one-handed with these little tabs to pull the magnets open. Okay, so that's cool! That'S a nice addition to all of the rotation bags in this update in the top section here, just a little pocket again for batteries

 That'S not available with the 22 liter. What you can store for your camera gear is is all in the bottom here, so this top section here is just going to be for all your other day, hiking stuff, your outdoor gear, okay. So let's zip that up! Let'S flip it over now on the back here we can see another big change between this version of the rotation packs and the previous versions. So basically, what we have here is an adjustable torso length

 I like it better when they put it there because I think it's a little bit easier to work with. You don't have to unbuckle things, or in this case, if I like, slide it under, you know, and then I can open it, but then it's still compressed down, so don't love that. I wish they just came behind and attached right here so you wouldn't have to undo the compression straps every time you wanted to open the bag. It's a slight annoyance

 You need to unbuckle this to get the zipper underneath. Don't really love that here, but it does work better on the opposite side where the water bottle pocket is. I've got the compression strap weaving through the top of this water bottle pocket or this water bottle like little handle right here. Or you could put it just on this top portion right there

 I think that's fine because it's zippered. It's not getting anything's going to come shooting out of here, but it's a nice mesh stretchy material Here, it opens up, you've got some ample space in there. I mean, I've got like my notebook, passport, some masks, sunglasses in here. This is basically what I've been using as my quick access pocket, which again, I don't love

Timbuk2 Division Laptop Backpack Deluxe Review (2 Weeks of Use)

 This is going to be a fantastic option to check out and so to wrap up. It'S been a great experience, testing out the timbuk2 authority pack deluxe over the past month. The bag has been very comfortable to wear. It has a great build quality

 No sort of internal organization, but again just a great spot to kind of keep everything easy to find and then the last area that we're going to take a look at is the main compartment, and so this is a top loading bag. So it has the zipper here that opens up very nicely. It would have been nice to maybe have this zipper go all the way down similar to the quick access pocket that we saw a second ago. It was nice how this had a little bit of a wider opening, so you get a nice view

 Currently, what i have in here is my 13 inch macbook pro, but you can see how much space there's left over at the top, and i like that. The compartment is suspended off the bottom of the ground. So it feels like my device is going to be well protected if i happen to place my bag down a little bit harder so pulling my laptop out now with the compartment empty, you can get a better look at the inside, and so it comes up a Decent amount, so you should be able to fit a laptop, that's a little bit thicker, but i would worry about how tight the laptop would start to feel if you fill up the main area quite a bit, so not as spacious as some other laptop pockets and It would have been nice to have more of a fleece lining to help protect against scratching, but regardless with the amount of padding that you have here and the fact that it's suspended, it really feels like my device is going to be very well protected. While i'm running around throughout the day up next, we have a slightly larger admin pocket that has some nice internal organizational options

 So far, the bag has been really comfortable to wear. This is one of the biggest updates to the bag. Is this new system of strap that they have here? It has plenty of padding it's really thick and comfortable right out of the box and then on the inside. You can see it has these kind of ridges here that just provide a lot of extra padding and the material isn't quite as breathable as i would normally like to see

Got this bag for commuting to work and it’s great—love the different pockets, laptop sleeve, padded straps, and actually found the key ring hook to be the most useful feature. The only downside to the water proof material is that while it looks really sleek and indeed keeps out moisture, it also shows wear EXTREMELY quickly. I’m talking a finger nail scratch will scuff this bag and stay forever. So, while I’ve had it less than a month and been pretty careful with it, it looks like it’s had nine lives

 Just checking real quick, it's very tight with another laptop in there in the back, but yeah pretty much just a big main compartment there, and then this back part is great because it holds up to a 17-inch laptop. So those durable ykk zippers opens up like horseshoe.  So, if you're going to be riding your bike or something like that at night, it gives you a little bit of extra visibility. I like on this bag. It has more of a professional vibe, and you can see here that we have the compression straps down here at the bottom. So that's going to make the bag smaller, make it a little skinnier and give it a more professional look and i've got it pretty fully packed out just to show you how much we can get inside, but it really helps to thin it down if you'd, like So yeah just compression buckles here, just some duraflex hardware, if you like that uh you have elastic keepers here to manage the straps, which is really important for a bag

 And then, as I mentioned, the straps have been really comfortable to wear and there's also plenty of padding on the back and a ventilation so that you know it'll be comfortable we're on a long day, but also you know, help keep air flowing and reduce the moisture That builds up on your back, so just kind of wrapping up on the outside of the bag. I just really want to know how nice everything feels like the quality of the materials is really really good. I like that the compression straps the buckles are actually metal, as opposed to the plastic that you typically find on a lot of bags, and everything just feels like it'll really hold up well for a long time, and and overall, just the aesthetic of the bag is Really pleasing to me, it reminds me a lot of the LA Packer tiger, new bag that I've reviewed previously, and this is kind of a more premium version of that bag. In my opinion, they're about the same size, this one just has a little bit better build

 So it would be really easy to see for anybody that was walking behind me. I really like that. The bag has two compression straps on the outside of the bag, as I mentioned earlier, with the water bottle pocket, it kind of adds a little bit more versatility, but then, on the other side as well, you can use it to hang a jacket or something like That and that may be on this side, you could actually hang the yoga mat that I was referring to earlier. These stretch out quite a bit, and then you can also use it to compress the bag

 Your small electronics in and different accessories, but let's go ahead and go through what I have in here and kind of how it fits into the bag. So, first of all I have here my beats solo three headphones and then I also have my extension cable. For my laptop charger, okay, so I have to sit a little bit farther away from the plug than usual, and then I have my bag. Smart, electronics, organizer, where I keep all my cables and chargers and stuff, and then I still haven't finished reading the lean startup

Best Daily Bags: Timbuk2 The Division Pack Review

This is a waterproof, elegant looking, very spacious little backpack. We hiked through WA and OR in multiple conditions and there’s not one scratch on my (gray) backpack! It got a little tossed around in the car also and it looks brand new. I even went underneath some trees on our hikes and I could just wipe off the dirt, without any other scratches, etc.

 But anyway, um I hope you guys enjoyed this video. Just some information about my new backpack and I would recommend it if you're thinking about buying it but you're not too sure. Um I would definitely suggest you buy it. Um yeah, all right

 And then I have my coffee cup which obviously in the morning would have coffee in it and I'd have it in my hand. but then after work I know that I can also place this in here so see how like much stuff I put in here so obviously it's questionable but then you go to closet and it looks okay so then like it all fits and I am just obsessed with it. So then it also has these clips here because it has like a water bottle compartment on the side. I'm sorry the lighting is kind of weird today but yeah it has this on the side

 Wow. Um yeah, I would say definitely 13 or 15 inch. I think it's ideal for like a 15 inch laptop, but um, definitely not a 17 inch. I do think that they have like an Xl version though, so you could probably get that one and maybe it's a little bit taller

 Like it. I would feel comfortable dropping the backpack and I would be confident that my laptop would not get up. So um, I use a 13-inch laptop. Um, every day

TIMBUK2 Division Laptop Backpack review

While this pack is a perfect size for minimalist carry on, at first I found it to be a bad fit. As a guy with a L or XL torso: the sternum strap was nearly at my neck at the lower of the two settings. I moved it to the very bottom of the padded strap, and it works much better but I had to let out all of the slack in the straps. As some has mentioned, access isn’t the best but it does have a good feature set
