Hiking

Thinktank Rotation 180 34L Backpack

(1/1)

Like most camera-specific hiking bags, there really is no way to organize your gear this way and maintain the easy access. So, there is a trade-off for the rotational quick access. There are a lot of ways to attach and configure gear to the outside of the bag, which does help to move some of the heavier bits to better locations.  You can break the bag down into three main sections: the ROTATION 180° 10L waist pack, the main 40L compartment, and the external pockets and attachment points

Vertx Ready Pack 2.0

(1/2)

I think these are unisex, but I use a vertx ready pack 2.0 for EDC, small hikes with the fam on local trails, etc. Takes a beating and has a nice belt and sternum strap. Also more colors than black and camo like most bags

Carry-on

Thinktank Rotation 180 34L Backpack

For me, the 34L is plenty bag for my photo trips - and it fits in most overhead bins (check those regional flights ... smaller planes are always a challenge)

Vertx Ready Pack 2.0

(1/1)

Materials, workmanship, and attention to detail are excellent throughout. All seams, zippers, etc are very well done, as is overall appearance. I particularly like that strap keepers are provided to keep things neat and tidy. Overall design and flexibility is very, very good

Comfort

Thinktank Rotation 180 34L Backpack

You can also use the pouch on the left side of the bag. There is a strap on the side to secure the top of the tripod, lashing it to the side of the bag. Heavier tripods may skew weight distribution, though. Wide shoulder straps distribute the back weight and a padded, breathable back make the Rotation 34L Backpack comfortable

Vertx Ready Pack 2.0

(1/1)

All logos on the bag are extremely subtle and I like that. It took me a few minutes looking it over to find them all. Over all though it’s extremely well made, it is extremely comfortable, and hides my pistol well. All of my gripes are minor and this is my favorite backpack

Size

Vertx Ready Pack 2.0

(1/1)

I don’t love how heavy it is for its size and the capacity of the main compartment. But, there are other similar options available from Vertx which are larger, in the event you need something like this for school and carry a lot of binders, notebooks, or textbooks.

Strap

Zipper

Vertx Ready Pack 2.0

(1/1)

0 the zippers to the main area and the conceal area had metal pull tabs on them with string pull tab. The 2.0 only has the string pull tabs. To me the 2

Compartment

Vertx Ready Pack 2.0

(1/1)

Moving to the main compartment you will see the bulk of the primary storage capacity of the pack’s 20 liters. A laptop sleeve easily holds a 14 inch laptop, and while the specs note it will hold a 15 inch I think that would be stretching it (literally). A few horizontal tool sleeves and a mesh admin pocket round out the main compartment. Everything is backed in loop fabric for adding additional Velcro pouches if desired
