I’ve had their everyday backpack 20L and 30L, their travel backpack, the 5L and 10L sling bags and every single one of them were woefully under built in the strap department. They are okay if empty in the store but as soon as they have a load, they are a huge pain. As cool as their bags are, I wouldn’t ever consider them anymore.

We know it. We’ve discussed it.

But why?

I’ve got the 45l + 18l and in both cases it feels like the straps were designed for 50% capacity.

The straps on the 45l in particular are woeful when it’s fully loaded - like carrying a suitcase with a couple of belts.

It feels like one area of Peak Design bags where they go for style over substance.

Why are Peak Design straps so bad?

There are also some concerns here about the slim water bottle pocket, but I saw a review specifically stating that this worked well for somebody with a similar frame to mine.

Between the weird layouts of the side pockets on the 20l zip that (in my opinion) fold out the wrong way, and the rear pouch that is just too hard to access once the main bag is full, I’m happy to see peak design have just popped zipper pockets inside the main case of the 30l for organising stuff you don’t need in transit and a much easier to access pocket at the front. -	Better through hiking comparability.

So how do we feel about the 30l travel backpack?

 However, the size of this bag really works better for daily use than the air travel pack. I was so impressed with just how small the bag manages to look without sacrificing carrying capacity, and if you prefer, a little bit less of a techie look and Moorman outdoorsy feel this is gon na, be a great alternative to the travel pack to the travel pack. To is also a little bit more expensive coming in at 230 dollars without the waist strap. So once you add, the waist strap that bag really starts to get higher into the price range, whereas this manages to stay under $ 200, making it a really compelling alternative and then the last bag that I'll throw out

"  Both the 23L and the 30L can be deceiving. Look at the videos and see how they are held on the tables and how the 15" Mac has a long trip to hit the bottom of the laptop compartment. Note, you may not always see the side-by-side comparison by Thule unless you see the product page on a laptop. Big note: I'm 5'10" and both are longer-bodied in that they cover most of your back

 But I like that the zippers come down a decent amount so that you can open it up a little bit wider to see everything that's on the inside and the layout for this compartment is really simple. It'S just a big bucket of space and I really like that to give me a lot of flexibility with how I can organize everything and so jumping into the items that I currently have in here. First up I have my air top kit and then the only other thing that I currently have here is my larger double-sided and compressible packing cube from our Quito. That has some my larger clothing items

 You can definitely fit up to a 15 inch laptop. Currently. What I have in here is my 13 inch macbook pro, but you can see there's some leftover space at the top and then at the bottom. I haven't been able to tell if this compartment is suspended

 And then, besides, that, this compartment goes all the way down to the bottom of the bag. This is one thing that I struggled with a little bit with this bag is the fact that this doesn't open a little bit lower. So it was a little hard to take full advantage of the compartments on the bottom, especially when the main area started. To get a little bit fuller, so it was hard to see kind of these zipper pockets here and to even just take full advantage of the space

 This compartment just also feels a little bit. Thicker and more padded for anything more delicate that you need to store the last area that we're gon na be taking a look at is the main compartment, and this is a top loading pocket. But I like that the zippers come down a decent amount so that you can open it up a little bit wider to see everything that's on the inside and the layout for this compartment is really simple. It'S just a big bucket of space and I really like that to give me a lot of flexibility with how I can organize everything and so jumping into the items that I currently have in here

Thule Subterra 30 Backpack Review - Solid Minimal Travel and Tech Bag

The build quality is excellent. If you want a light, rugged day pack for bike-commuting with nothing to snag you, this might be it. If you want it as a daily-use school bag, I would pass on this one, and go for one of Thule's ironically smaller (25L) "crossover" bags that seem to hold way more than this. See my photos for how the bottom half of the front pouch is nearly useless space

The bad: This pack will never standup on its own. The sleek design means it rolls forward every time. The drink pockets that zip close? They are so tight that my water bottle barely fits, and the effort usually causes the bag to roll, and once for me to spill coffee everywhere. The 30L? I don't know where

 The pouch from front to back is very narrow. I never did get anywhere near 30L to fit in this bag, and any effort to fill it caused it to be nearly unusuable as you had to pull everything out to find your stuff.

 This is a tight-fitting bag, I don't know where they hid 30L of capacity, but it feels very tight. The zipper on the front pouch only goes down a little ways, so the very-thick front pouch requires its lid to be held open and I invariably lose stuff in the bottom and have to dig around to find it. The soft protection pocket for sunglasses is not nearly as protected as my previous Thule bag, which had a removable reinforced glasses case. The main pouch suffers from being very narrow and the zipper only going halfway (with the strong design of the bag also) forcing you to dig around to find items

Today we are looking at the Thule Subterra 34 litre bag. It's a dope backpack. It's honestly like it's honestly kind of stylish

 my little barren fig notebook right in there. it's it's. got a nice little fleece lining. Feels kind of like a bed for your things

 so you can just pack out the packing cube and shove that in there. and it's got some pretty great organization for the tech stuff on the bag with this outside pocket. I'm gonna show you every pocket on this bag here and feature in a moment, but that's basically the gist. Decent capacity, kind of a cool form function

 you've got a nice little little guy to to put over your luggage handle in case you're using this as your date as you're like as your carry-on bag with a roller bag. which is fine to do if you really need to take a lot of stuff. I Love the idea of traveling with this as you're one bag travel. Allow me some one bag travel and this is where your lat your your roller bag can slide or write in last so you don't have to carry both of them
