Benchmade Bugout 535 vs Victorinox Swiss Army Knife Fieldmaster

Love my Benchmade knives. Axis lock is great. Tolerances on mine have all been really good. 940 Osborne, 555 Minigrip (Pardue), 15080 Crooked River, 535 Bugout… all great EDC

It appears to be bad stamping or sharpening techniques on the blades and the saw particularly, there are metal slivers around the saw blade and some hooks look slightly bent even. This just screams poor quality and makes me feel like this swiss army knife wont last long at all. I wish I would have paid more for a better one or that I looked more for a better quality knife. I don't know if these are refurbished knives or if their quality has just gone down, dissapointing none the less

I love this blade so damn much. But you're getting it in a very, very thin package with good utility, and the weight of this is what most knives weigh...

He gifted it to me for my birthday, and I love it dearly, but it’s a bulky monster. The Fieldmaster packs a saw, scissors, two blades, three screwdrivers, and a few other tools into a package that I can easily wrap my hand all the way around, let alone carry in my pocket next to other EDC gear. And none of the tools are gimmicky. They all can do what they claim to do

The actual knife blade, where it travels and slides along the barrel below the pivot was EXTREMELY rough when I purchased it. I have been using it and wondering why it always felt like it was full of sand. So I finally decided to take it apart to figure it out and yeah. Flat spots worn into the barrel and the very hard steel of the knife was unpolished and rough

In a lot of places knife flaws are such that you just cannot have a locking blade in even parts of places. Here in the US Like in in schools or someth...

but I need something that has just a bit more substance. I might return this knife but I have not yet decided just yet.

The plastic handles protrude and are very sharp. The spacers in between the tools are also not finished very well and were very sharp. I had to sand them down with sandpaper and scotch brite pads. I guess nothing lasts forever

Only reason I am giving this knife a 4 out of 5 star is because the price and name. For 120$ you'd expect more from Benchmade the quality is still superb and above all other knives in my opinion, but for $120 you'd expect more from this knife. My other dissatisfaction is the name it should be called the EDC 535 not the Bugout 535. To some this really doesn't matter to others it might I'm just adding that in the review

Even though it's not heavy duty in construction and won't replace a Leatherman type multi-tool, but it's smaller and cheaper and does most things well.
