you get great steel for the price too, for such a large blade in S30V, compared to some other companies using S30V in their blades *cough* Benchmade *cough*, you get much more of the premium steel for the blade and the blade is pretty dang chunky compared to the other Spyderco mainstays like the Delica/Endura. What makes this knife so pricey is the fantastic blade steel and "Made in U.S.A" status. Overall unless you have to have an American made Knife I would look at their Taiwanese and Japanese or even Chinese made knives first if you can get over the inferior materials
