The dust bags do have a nice slide down cardboard door, do you won't have flying dust as you carry it to the trash. SUCTION POWER Is not lacking. For the first month I let it run on high suction power giving it a chance to thoroughly clean any areas I have missed, with my upright and cleaning exposed new spaces when I move stuff around. It is a bit on the heavy side but that's because it has two motors, a vac and beater bar motor (most have a single motor like the Oreck). It vacuums better then anything I've ever used (and I have had a collection over the years). We had a cheaper vac (Panasonic) it was good but lasted about 5 yrs. The Lindhaus is well worth the investment

Per the manual don't use any soap or cleaning solutions on the filter. Just rinse and let it completely dry before putting it back into the Z10's onboard dust bin. The charging dock's dust bag claims it to needs to only be replaced once every 65 days. I can find replacement vacuum filters for the Z10 but no luck finding replacement charging dock bags
