 Anybody can do it just be smart. You have your little thumb rest area here and once again, I am NOT pressing pressing pressing. It'S almost just the weight of my hand with just a little bit of tension, just going ahead and gliding across keeping me safe and, at the same time not destroying the metal on my knife, because the harder you press, the more metal you're going to take off. You know eventually rendering that blade useless I've use it for all sorts of blades

 So when you have something orange like this, especially for a tool that you're not using in any kind of tactical situation, it's always cool to go with the bright orange, so that you could make sure that you could retrieve your gear and if it does fall out Or get displaced from your pack or your person now what we have here is these carbide, tungsten, sharpeners here and it's just basically this V notch and what we're doing here is basically taking the blade that we're working on so right now, let's go ahead and go With our kitchen knife, because that's what I was first exposed to with the a Q sharp and what we're doing here with the manufacturer recommends, is to always put tool on a stable surface, or in this case it's being my kitchen knife, and they wanted to hang Out about a inch and a half, let's say off the end here, so whether you're doing it on a table for the purposes of this demo, I'm just doing it on on a piece of wood here: okay, what you're, probably mimmik more so what we would be Utilizing in a field now what we want to do is we have this cool guard here. Some of my knives couldn't cut room temperature butter and it took some work to get them sharp but they are sharp now, after working at it.

 That is if we all had an ample amount of time to spare and nothing else better to do. And I also have not experienced any of my knives staying any less sharp and needing more sharpening with the Accusharp as some other reviewers have made a note of. Personally I feel an edge is an edge and the length of time it stays that way has a lot more to do with the knives quality, rather than the tool or system used to get it that way. One last observation, the Accusharp sharpening stone is reversible

 However now that I have had this Accusharp for a while, I feel I have made an excellent choice.  The Accusharp is just about as simple as they come by design, and to use. The tough carbide sharpening stone does an excellent job with minimal pressure in sharpening any blade with just 3 or 4 light strokes. As soon as I got it I used it not only on all my kitchen knives, but on my various hunting knives as well

I decided to buy this Accusharp hand held sharpener after ruining too many knives on my old grinding wheel. There are quite a few hand held, compact knife sharperners on Amazon to choose from. However now that I have had this Accusharp for a while, I feel I have made an excellent choice.  The Accusharp is just about as simple as they come by design, and to use
