My conclusion is I can recommend the Acebeam L17 if you're in the market for a fairly compact 18650 powered thrower with basically no spill.

* Thrower: Acebeam L17, Convoy M1, Convoy C8+, Noctigon KR1, Manker MC13, Manker MC12 II, and Mateminco MT35 Mini-S/Astrolux FT03 Mini are all excellent options. The Noctigon KR1 is made by the same guy that makes Emisar lights, so it is yet again another enthusiast light with all the same benefits and drawbacks as the others. If it were up to me, I'd go with the H04 RC, the M200, and the L17. That might be pushing the top end of your budget but they're all very good lights with excellent build quality.
