 Don'T need that anymore clip on here. It'S got some resistance to it, but it's not flimsy tactical ring gray bezel on there. It'S got a little bit of a strike attitude on here. You see there they're, not sharp, but pretty long great

 Yep all right. Let'S go next level, see how it does there. It is highest output that this thing does 5 000 lumens, just a huge spill easily making it to those playgrounds across the park. All from this relatively small light wow, i light up that whole area clear out the sides making those palm trees we'll do a before and after here before after credible light output and the beam performance is very nice

 This here is also another warning that you have to remove the little plastic sleeve, so the battery stays charged there. It is really nice knurling here on the head, and it is rough actually same for the tail i'm going to remove this before i forget and that basically protects it from dust and scratches during shipping and we'll go ahead and remove this as well. He is kind of a couch commando but a good guy none the less so I thought I’d get him a decent light. I am willing to go up to $130 ish. Below are the two I am recommending. I will give him his choice of a few including the thrunite he sent. 

- Olight Warrior X Pro (not my cup of tea but right up his alley)

- Acebeam L35 

What do you guys recommend?

<div class="md">Update: I got him the Olight Warrior X Pro. Found it better than what he originally wanted while still maintaining the tactical appeal as well as somewhat overdone / silly marketing. He is very happy with it and thinks having only two modes is the bees knees. He’s happy, I’m happy… win win. 

Now I’m off to get me a Convoy M21C U w/ SFT40

Edit: His intention is not to EDC it. So the ugly aggressive strike bezels will not be an issue and are his liking.

Looking for a thrower that gives the brightest and widest beam for scanning property at 500 yards or so. Any recommendations?

Hello everyone, I want to buy my first primary flashlight and after looking online and at videos etc. 

I was thinking between the fenix PD36R or the nitecore P10ix. I've not heard great things about the nitecores quality though, despite good materials etc. 


So I don't necessarily mind the brightness of turbo mode, just bright lol. But I want a modeset well spread out (i.e. turbo,  1000 lumens, 500, 300, 100) 

-what brightness for the turbo should consider? 
- what's the best lumens combination for modes? (In your opinion and why) 

I also want a switch cap with access to an instant strobe, which to me apart from brightness ability, is the most important thing

I would prefer more of a flood style light as it'll be used mostly outside so seeing vast areas is better. 

Although is there's a flashlight with a spotlight and still a decent flood, I'd rather that as I would like it to reach relatively far, so long as I could see anything far enough I could get ready to either protect myself or get away (speaking about that I guess a red light mode would also help) 



I also want it to be able to last for a few hours at least on high.

I know it's hard to get everything you want on one torch but I'd more likely sacrifice the battery life as I could just swap them out, although I don't want to make it a pain in the ass for every time I go out with it


I know these expectations are probably a little too solid for all the ups and downs a torch can have, but please could you recommend a torch or two that would be best fitting for my description/ needs?

flashlight recommendations?

I just got hired by a police department and I need a high intensity flashlight with a tail cap button and a sheath or holster to wear on my duty belt. Besides looking at the Streamlight ProTac I have no real idea where to start. I would prefer a holster that I just can pull it out the top of without undoing a top cover.
  
Price: $150 max, including the holster and charger/batteries.

Battery: No idea, probably would prefer rechargeable so I don't have to buy new ones as often.

Main Use: Law enforcement, going to be working outdoors and on the water rather than in urban areas.

Switch: MUST to be the tail cap button.  

If you can point me towards whatever brands are reliable and has the kind of holster I'm required to have or just validate that the streamlight is a good option that would be awesome.

[Recommendations] Duty Flashlight w/ Holster Recommendations

Besides a Hanklight, what would you consider are some ‘must-haves’ for a flashlight enthusiast?

Looking for a simple light that will be used on a boat, not a big boat, just a regular family deck boat. 

Obviously want something waterproof to not just the occasional spray, I would prefer something that can be submerged for an extended period of time. Of course this is overkill, but oh well. 

Would like a decently long run time with a mixture of spot and flood, flood for seeing around the boat and spot for signaling or even navigation if we’re out after dark. 

Definitely prefer a handheld flashlight vs a dedicated “pistol” type spotlight, and as far as charging goes, I’m very familiar with 18650’s, etc and have no need for on board charging (USB-C) so the simpler the light the better. 

One or two simple (high, low, possibly strobe for signaling) modes would be preferred. Would prefer to not have to cycle through them but would like to access each mode independently. 

If it could cost somewhere under $100US that would be great.
