 For the money, it's a great value. Close to Neurs actual bone mutton saddle, it's a no frills. It's mahogany I assume it's laminate. For the for the cost and laminate, it's much easier to take care of when your humidity changes a lot because solid woods can sometimes give you problems if you're not in a consistent humidity humidity

Hello David Wrench here to talk about the Alvarez are you to to Tenor Ukulele Let you take a look at it. It is considered an entry-level but I believe it has a wonderful sound, great projection, and a very nice sustain. For the money, it's a great value. Close to Neurs actual bone mutton saddle, it's a no frills

 It's not. It's not a bad sounding ukelele at all. I Don't consider it entry-level because it sounds great. Projections great

Alvarez RU22 Review

The 3-star rating is because this particular ukulele had an unplayable 6th fret on the fourth string. When striking the string, it made a buzz rather than a note. I don't think Alvarez is to blame, but the distributor, as they apparently don't keep their stringed acoustic instruments in a temperature-controlled environment. That's too bad, because it otherwise played very well, and the sound very good

 I'm not sure how long they've been that way because it stays in tune a long time.  I got in touch with Alvarez customer support about getting replacements, and the rep not only didn't offer new ones, but getting more info was like pulling teeth. At first he just said the tuning mechanisms they use weren't available in the U.S

The media could not be loaded. There is a buzzing sound when I play this ukulele. I've never had a baritone uke before and the quality seems to be just mediocre. Didn't expect a really rich nice sound for this price but also little disappointed in the sound quality due to the buzzing sound

Slightly bigger than my tenor ukulele but not as big as I expected a baritone ukulele to be. The sound kind of resembles a guitar as two strings are not nylon

 I purchased this for the grandchildren to bang around on when they visit and not to worry if it gets busted up. % The good is # easy to play even with fat fingers # perfect intonation at the 12th fret # no string buzzing # fret wire ends are smooth (not like some cheap ukes where they are like razor blades) # back and top are reinforced with straight braces (not "X" bracing) # tuners hold string tension well # mine was pre-strung with Aquila strings, tuned down 1/2 step out of the box # brought it up standard tuning and it held immediately without the 2 week break-in period of stretching  % the not so good is - # string height at the 12th fret is about 3/16 inch # the sound is a little on the dull side # the fretboard and bridge are perfectly flat. It may take some getting used to if your other instruments have a slight crown.  Overall I would definately recommend this to a beginner or a low intermediate player not looking for professional sound
