 Now I'm going to use this cable in my car. It's six feet long. I find that the three foot or one meter cables are a little bit too short in my car, so I figured I'd give the six foot cable a try. But one thing to know about the six foot cables, whether you get them from Apple or Anker or anybody, they're usually a little bit thicker than the one meter or three feet cable

 So they meet Apple's requirements. It comes with this little velcro strap for keeping the cable managed. And let me try plugging this thing in. Make sure it charges my phone

Doesn't charge fast enough

Expensive, but necessary.

 The "dud" end of the cable is now not working no matter which orientation it's plugged in. I jumped on the Anker bandwagon a few years ago and slowly but surely all of their products have failed me. I can accept failure of a product that wears out from lots of use but this most recent cable failure has me looking at non-Anker alternatives. This Anker product could not withstand "desk duty" so I see no reason to recommend it to someone that may be counting on it for work or while traveling

Lasted less than a year.

 I'm no IT expert but I tried my best to figure out the compatibility and based on the specs of the laptop and the monitor, and I would have expected this cable to work for all three functions.  I've also tried the Anker Thunderbolt 3.0 cable with the same results. I'm not sure if it's just bad luck with defective products or I'm not understanding the spec compatibility

I chose the PowerLine II because they are the best of the best, at least for the moment. I mainly use it for charging my Nintendo Switch when playing it in portable mode.They are capable of charging the battery while playing games where other cords would continue to allow the battery to drain.
