 Hello everybody. So in this video I'd like to review the Anker PowerPort 4 USB charger. And so I got this to replace my iPhone 5W charger which takes forever to charge. And the great thing about this product is that it has 40W of power, so like 8 times the amount of power that the iPhone 5W charger has

 And it's really small, it fits in my hand, so if I need to go charging, and I need to go travel, then it's very easy. It just easily closes in, and then just throws it in your bag. And it's quite sturdy, and very well built. So I really highly recommend this product, because it has 4 ports, and who doesn't need another port to charge things these days

 And then just the charger itself. So what I like about this charger is that it's actually very small, it actually fits into the palm of my hand here. And just to compare it, this is an iPad 12W charger, so it's just a little bit larger than the iPad charger. But the iPad charger is 12W, and then this thing here is 40W, and there are 4 ports

 And it's quite sturdy, and very well built. So I really highly recommend this product, because it has 4 ports, and who doesn't need another port to charge things these days. Anker PowerPort 4 USB Charger Review - Watch Before You Buy

  This charger charges all of my devices quickly and effectively (including an iPhone 6s Plus, Samsung S4, Nexus 7 tablet, and Galaxy Tab 2). It even works better than my OEM Samsung charger for my Samsung Galaxy Tab 2. That tablet ONLY accepted charge from a Samsung charger, which was a big pain if I didn't have one handy, especially because that charger was dying and having trouble actually charging. This Anker charger makes all of that a non-issue: it charges perfectly as though it were an actual Samsung charger

 This issue makes it difficult to change/disconnect cables.  I bought this charger because Anker has well-built products, excellent warranties, and great customer service. A cable from a previous Anker charger died and Anker replaced it with no hassle whatsoever. They even replaced it with a BETTER cable than the one that came with the device

Really nice with a few (minor) issues

 I bought this Anker charger as an alternative to carrying multiple chargers on trips. While it seems to work well for other devices (iPhone S7, S7 plus, iPads, etc), the Anker charger is much larger and heavier than the original chargers: it is as large as four iPhone chargers together, and probably heavier (I do not have a good scale to verify; I will try to add photos later). On the positive side, it seems to be another quality product from Anker, and to be able to handle different devices at the same time. I just wished that it charged my Galaxy S7 faster, and it were smaller and lighter

I was disappointed with this product I ordered from Amazon. The main reason of my disappointment is that despite the nearly perfect customer ratings, including some that stated this wall charger works with the Samsung Galaxy S7 phone, in my experience it is much slower than the original charger that came with the phone. I made several tests, with my phone battery at different levels; the Anker charger does the job, but it takes 30% or longer than the original charger, using the original cable. The charging time increases if other devices are also connected at the same time, despite the 40W rating

 On the positive side, it seems to be another quality product from Anker, and to be able to handle different devices at the same time. I just wished that it charged my Galaxy S7 faster, and it were smaller and lighter.  I am editing my review and changing the rating from 3 to 4 stars. The Anker customer service has been very good, and promptly offered for me to return the product (which I did not, because the charger still works well for the iPhones at my house)

  Both phones charged as they should, so now I'm trying to determine if the charger just didn't 'like' one of the charger cords, or devices, or if this charger itself has an intermittent problem and needs to be replaced.  Anker has been very good during all this, and immediately contacted me offering a replacement,  I'm just not ready to change a variable (the charger) yet, until I've eliminated the other possibilities.  Because it worked last night, and because of Anker's intimidate response, I upped the review to 3 stars.  If the fail to charge was just a fluke, or if I did get 'a bad one' and an Anker's replacement cures it, I will adjust the review again

Update June 1st Ive used it almost nightly for the last 2 months, it's only failed to charge the phones one other time in that time period.  My routine now is to plug them in at night, then check them 10-15 minutes later to double check they are charging.  Some devices don't like this charger, some devices don't like certain cords with this chager, but work fine with other chargers. Since its been nearly flawless over the 2 months, I'm bumping to rating to 4 stars, Thanks for reading  Update, after an issue (night of non-charging 2 phones), I didn't want to chance using the charger again on a work night, and waited until Saturday night to try charging both phones again

 Once I removed this charger from the wall, the old chargers functioned as they should in the same wall outlet with the same cords I had been using.

 This one feature will allow me to just get an adapter for the country's plug type without having to worry about a step down transformer as well as being able to use it in the US. It has fast charging as well as four ports for USB devices to be plug into the unit. The battery pack along with the charger will provide all of the power that I need for cell phones, tablets and a couple of other electronics on this trip. The unit is a little heavy, but I am hoping that's due to being well constructed thus being a quality product

Boldly going where one hasn't gone before.

Great for traveling

I originally reviewed this at 3 stars but have changed it to 5 after dealing with their customer service and getting a replacement for a defective device. I can't say enough about their customer service - I explained the problem, they ask some questions, and I had a new wall charger to me in 2 days (before I had even mailed the defective unit back to them). I'd probably give it higher, but I haven't had a chance to use it much. I like what I have seen so far, though! I bought a Drok Multimeter at the same time that I bought this product, so I could test to see how it performs

 Bummer. Hoping this is because the unit is defective. I love the look and feel of the Anker products, but they are no good to me if they do not do what they say they do. Anker does have great customer service

7/7/17  After several emails with customer service, I now have a replacement wall charger from Anker.  It works perfectly.  Yea!

I'm on the road ~200 nights a year and I've found my new travel charger! I've used the older 5-port Anker charger (the one with the power cord) for awhile as my go-to travel charger. Nothing wrong with it, but it wasn't an ideal travel candidate.  Here's what I like about this charger vs. the 5-port model: *Compact -- no detachable cord to worry about, less bulk in my travel bag

  *Well-engineered -- Even with all ports loaded, this charger only gets warm, not hot. I'm not worried about it overheating or burning out. I had a few ports on one of my Anker 5-port chargers burn out. Anker replaced it under warranty, but it failed while I was on the road

 NOT good when it's plugged into the lamp next to my bed at the hotel.  *Lightweight -- Due to the lack of cord, this weighs about half what the corded 5-port does.  *Well-engineered -- Even with all ports loaded, this charger only gets warm, not hot. Great for family travel including overseas with multiple fast-charging gadgets. Switches voltages and protects your gadgets.

 I'd love it if Anker made a version of this with their swappable travel plugs, but it's compact enough to work fine with a quality travel adapter. (Don't charge multiple devices on a cheap travel plug adapter--it's asking for trouble if the adapter's crap, no matter how good the charger is.)  I almost never write tech reviews because most tech just stinks--purposefully designed to be used, soon broken, and replaced while the oil-based plastic and ultimately limited-supply metal waste piles up. But my family has gotten thousands of hours of use out of these with no break downs, no frustration, no waste, cheaper cost, and higher performance than the original parts shipped with our devices

 The 40W capacity is enough to double-speed charge most combinations of four phone/tablet devices. Take a break before dinner after a long day out and you'll have enough juice for the evening. Overnight will be ready for the next day.  The design and form factor are best in class--even in late 2020 I'm not aware of a device with four USB-A ports that's smaller and still plugs directly into a wall socket
