 However, the Magnetic spring steel build plate will not hold the base of the model and you have a mess of stranded plastic on the bed (see Pic). Even after wiping it down with alcohol to get the hand oils off after scraping the plastic that is left behind with the included scraper. Now i have to use glue stick to ensure the base of the model sticks. The build plate my option has failed in 3 weeks!

Great Printer Except....

 There is a frequent problem with the strain gage - when it breaks you will not be able to auto level. You don't have to auto level frequently but when it breaks you are out of action. The strain gages are NOT available anywhere but Anycubic and they have no US Parts depot so IF you can get parts, they come from China and we know how that supply chain is working right now. The best resources for support are Facebook groups and Youtube

Bed isn’t good.

Auto leveling error

 One must have for this machine is a network interface of some sort. It doesnt have one (WTF?) so you will have to try and find a Pi and run octo-print or some other interface. It gets old running over to the machine to swap the SD card out real quick.  Print quality out of the box is meh

Pretty good printer out of the box. Some caveats though

 The print quality I am getting matches my older i3 Mega-S Anycubic printers. The Vyper is faster, quieter, and with the added the auto leveling its shines better than the older Mega-S (a have a few of those that I have worn out)  One additional good note is that the Vyper runs Marlin 2.X and the source can be downloaded from github if you are so inclined to want to modify the operation.

 This seemed like a quality printer up until attempting the first print. Nicely packaged, components looked well put together. The first bump in the road was that the printer interface could not locate files within a folder on the SD card they provide. Where do they decide to put the test print owl gcode file? In a folder

 I've had mine for around 8 months, and in this time i've had the strain gauge break twice, and the filament sensor. I've been able to use this printer for around 4 months, and 4 months it has had to sit there while parts come in. This is very unfortunate because this is a great printer, but if something goes wrong then you'll be left with a brick for long periods of time while parts ship to you. The printer is positioned as a starters unit, but the high maintenance factor coupled with incompetent support, that sometimes takes days to respond and when they do they send you an unboxing video, makes this a hard one to recommend

In terms of print quality, this thing is amazing. It prints fast and the prints look great when done. However, the printer is built with cheap components, and since it's mostly automated it has multiple points of possible failure. Every time something breaks you have to contact their support in China, and they ask you to follow a couple of steps to fix the issue, and when they're satisfied that it's an issue with the machine they will ship you parts which usually sets you back about a month while the parts come in

Great print quality, built with the cheapest parts and paired with the worst support.

 We're hobbyists though, and can't justify spending thousands for something we may never use after setting it up. That curiosity "itch" never went away, so you watch prices for it to come down go a reasonable price range..

 The other style of printer does provide higher quality, but at the cost of requiring hazardous chemicals in the creation process. With the purchase of the Vyper 3d printer, it came with the test file to create the owl seen here. 4 Stars! Hope you find this review and pictures helpful! Reasonably priced and easy for newbies!
