Good lord what’s going on with HomeKit performance lately?

If you have a previous Apple TV, this lack of mode switching is familiar, but remapping SDR content into HDR is a whole new ballgame, and unfortunately, Apple’s HDR video processing is hit or miss. It was great when I watched HD content from iTunes, but it fell down in other apps. I watched The Dark Knight in HD on HBO Go with our video team, and the Apple TV 4K HDR processing blew out all the contrast in the image, sharpened everything to hell, and turned the film grain into noise. The same movie looked fine on iTunes, but it just looked bad from HBO Go

HDR: High Dynamic Range. HDR TVs can display a much wider range of brightness than before, just like HDR photos on your phone can capture a much wider range of brightness. You want this in your next TV.

So I've been using the new 2021/\s/ Apple Tv for a few weeks now and having coming/\s/from using the previous model the 2017 I wondered/\s/ was it really worth changing? What extra features/\s/do we actually get or are you better off just/\s/ buying the new remote instead And as most Tvs now/\s/have all of these streaming apps installed anyway/\s/ is there really a need for this little box/\s/at all? Well, today I'm going to show you what/\s/ this new Apple Tv offers including using/\s/AirPods to watch movies, screen mirroring/\s/, and playing Apple arcade games. Plus what the/\s/new remote is like compared to the old design/\s/ what I like, dislike and what I/\s/actually think needs improving/\s/ right? here's the box and just like with the/\s/previous model, it's pretty small and compact/\s/ Inside the box, we've got the new remote control/\s/which on first impressions it feels really really/\s/ nice. Then we've got the new Apple Tv box, the power/\s/cable some instructions, and finally the lightning/\s/ to Usb cable and then the same as last time there/\s/is no HDMI cable in the box even though we need/\s/ that to use it

2021 Apple TV 4K Review: 1 Month Later

Not much, IMO, but my appleTV 4k is my main interface to streaming and live TV entertainment. I use the AppleTV 4k for appleTV plus shows. You can turn the TV on and off directly from HomeKit, but my HDMI CEC does that when I sleep the appletv so I never really need it. you can also change the tv inputs from HomeKit so it you have other things connected to it, i imagine that might be useful

I’m in the market for a new TV right now, my current TV is a decade old and I feel an update in visual quality is much needed.  I have an Apple TV 4K connected to that TV as well, and would like to take advantage of it.  An LG OLED one I found looked pretty nice, and I noticed it is HomeKit enabled.  

Does anybody else here have a Homekit TV??  Is there any benefit to it if I will have an Apple TV connected to it?

Great buy if you have a big iTunes movie library - otherwise poor value.

 I am finally fed up with having to reboot in order to use Netflix. Even after rebooting, the browser only works for a few minutes and then slows so much that it becomes unusable. I think I should be able to expect a device that costs $150 to work! This product , with its disastrous remote, does not! It seems unique to Netflix and not other channels. This seems very suspicious to me

Remote is a disaster

Did all the wiring myself. Was able to pull all the baseboards and run the wire between the drywall and floor. Will soon be adding wireless units to the subs and and Apple TV 4K this weekend. They are my bday presents. Came from a htib system and I’m just completely blown away with this setup. Couldn’t be happier with the results.
