Well, you know what this means we're between my two kitchen windows, so must be NY gear review time. Hey guys! Welcome back to another episode of the NY gear review today, we're gon na be taking a look at the Adam LT hoodie from Arc'teryx, okay, spec time. Spec time spec spec spec specs, oh yeah, this jack is weighing in at 415 grams or fourteen point, six ounces very lightweight jacket, and it feels incredibly lightweight while you wearing it. So that's good

 On the side, however, it does do a very good job of ventilating, as well as wind resistance. I'Ve been in some pretty windy situations and notice that this thing just blocks the wind. Another thing that I like about this jacket is its versatility, like I said before, there's a lot of things that this jacket can do. It'S not just stuck into one category

 This is a 20 denier shell. With a DWR coating, it is 100 % nylon the side panels of this jacket. They run all the way up to the armpit features, a Polartec stretch, fleece, it's a four-way stretch fabric and it's just featured on the side panels of the jacket. The insulation on this jacket is a 60 gram, core loft insulation gon na keep you pretty warm, but I would say, the level of insulation in this jacket is what makes it so versatile

It's comfortable, breathable, perfect warmth for someone who runs hot, and the logo on the sleeve makes it feel more subtle and tasteful. In my opinion far superior to the heavier better sweater competitors.

 For a price tag over $200 it better do at least that. Anyway it does tend to absorb odors pretty easily, after maybe 5 intense hikes/uses it was smelling pretty dank. So I read the tag on the inside of the garment which says simply "DO NOT USE FABRIC SOFTENER / DO NOT WRING / FRONT LOAD WASHER RECOMMENDED". To be safe I put it on gentle/delicate cycle in both the washer and dryer and did NOT use fabric softener

Don't Wash It

 So i would definitely recommend looking at that. However, for under 300, i would say you are getting a lot of bang for your buck since the jacket will last you a very long time when it comes to how to wash this jacket, i recommend washing it on cold, slash, cold and then air dry. It do not put it in the dryer, since i can mess up the jacket, especially the screen, print and yeah. I would just recommend air drying it and staying away from the dryer completely and if you guys do have any more questions about sizing, pricing and things like that, be sure to

 So starting off this is the arterix adam lt hoodie jacket. They also make a vest of this jacket as well as a jacket without the hood, and this jacket is light. Versatile, synthetically, insulated hoodie works as a mid layer and standalone atom series. Synthetic insulated mid layers, lt stands for lightweight

 I went with the size large if you're unsure, which size to get, i would definitely recommend visiting an arteric store and trying it on beforehand. That way, you get the right size and i would say it is kind of slim fitting it isn't too slim fitting, so it kind of does hug your body, which makes sense since it's an insulated jacket. So it's meant to keep you warm. I wouldn't want it to be too baggy or anything like that, but i would say the sizing is very good

 It do not put it in the dryer, since i can mess up the jacket, especially the screen, print and yeah. I would just recommend air drying it and staying away from the dryer completely and if you guys do have any more questions about sizing, pricing and things like that, be sure to. I came across [this article on Patagonia](https://www.patagonia.com/stories/colin-haleys-clothing-system-for-alpine-climbing-in-the-chalten-massif/story-95145.html) going in depth about alpine layering piece by piece, which got me thinking about my own system and wondering how others approach theirs. 

I typically conceptualize my packing list in terms of layering, especially when visiting different climates on a longer trip. For my style of travel, there's a spectrum of warm weather vs cool weather and urban travel vs outdoors travel. So for each layer there's potentially four different items of clothing that I could be packing to cover all my bases, in a three layer system for both top and bottom that is a whopping 24 articles of clothing not including any accessories/shoes. This is where layering and onebag philosophies intersect, as I try to bring as few pieces of clothing as possible to cover as wide a range of situations as possible. Do you cross over outdoors/sports layers when traveling to mostly urban areas? What items work for each of your layers for your style of travel?

A take on layering and packing systems - what is your setup/take?

 Great but minimal water resistance - if you expect a lot then you know you need an outer shell. Delivers a lot of warmth. Compressible. Style is simple, not overly boring
