 Hi I'm Tom from Cotswold Outdoor we're on Curve Ridge at the moment we're just having a little

 breather so I thought I'd just spend 30 seconds telling you about my Artterix Gamma LT's which

 I've had for a very very long time. They're absolutely amazing trousers we're going to be

 doing these these winter and this is just a real versatile piece of kit. Soft shell so it's water

 repellent, wind resistant, four-way stretch and the LT means that it's the lightweight version.

 I've had the ARs for about nine or ten years and I've used those all over the Alps and they are

 burly and really really tough. I've got these because particularly in Scotland like in the

 last few years we've had some really nice summers so for climbing I just need something as lightweight

 as possible it's still going to protect me and these are absolutely fantastic. The stitching

 is super durable they've got articulated knees so you're not dragging the trouser over you all the

 time. They've got a really nice pocket that I can get a small cut down map in for when I get to the

 top of the crag and I need to nav off. I've tested the water resistance quite a bit and I've also

 tested the durability. This is their 11th day straight on this trip so unfortunately they smell

 a bit luckily you can't tell that on the video but also I have used them quite a lot. One of the

 features I've really fallen in love with on this trip is and I never used them before on other

 trousers is the um let me find it there we go hang on let me find it is the elasticated hem at the

 top. Like I always thought these were a bit of a gimmick to make you look like more of a gnarly

 climber but what I've found is that instead of having to use gaiters on boggy ground and things

 and to keep things nice and tight and secure so like when I'm climbing I don't get my laces caught

 then they act almost like a little bit of a gaiter and I just tuck everything up inside

 and because the trousers are stretchy then they don't tend to ride up over the top. I absolutely

 love that feature obviously in here you can see the great mescalator mids as well

 we'll talk about those in a separate video.

 It's got a brush line on the inside so for most three season times of the year they're perfect for that and they're really stretchy so you can move around, you can hike your leg up and feel really comfortable climbing or whatever. The bottom of the leg itself kind of goes down and it's tapered kind of like a straight leg jean would be and that keeps a nice tight fit around your boot and then there's a little boot clip down here at the bottom that you can just simply put over your lace. That keeps the bottom of the pant down nice and tight. Kind of eliminates the whole need to really need a gaiter under most circumstances

They're really just a great balm proof pant. They run about $175 which is kind of expensive but for a good pair of pants they're well worth it

 Hi this is Dan Ash with Backpackers Review and on today's episode we're going to talk

 about the Arc'teryx Gamma AR Softshell Pant.

 This is a three season pant that I just recently utilized in Nepal and I'm going to let you
