 Anyway GPU support looking at the board itself, so This is all black, but it's kind of like a it's a black kind of mirror I want to quote the film but and then it's got like little waves in it But the what if the waves are done with bits that are polished and bits that aren't so it's not it's actually perfectly flat And they've just done it with a texture difference, which I think is kind of cool You get these big slashes over on this end of the heatsink Which is obviously carried through and you can see the design kind of ethos throughout the board but there isn't a fan or anything underneath this that I've been able to spot and I'm having another look because now I've said it out loud. It'll be interesting to see what that one will do and then if we were to Fling around the back just quickly with a camera move so you get your BIOS clear and a BIOS flashback single HDMI That is the only output for video on the back of the board, but at this level I would assume Most of us are only going to be using this as an extreme kind of case if we are fault-finding or something that Wi-Fi the market is 6e which is good for you in the US But not necessarily for us in the UK because it won't work a couple of Thunderbolt ports though The Ethernet are both 2.5. Gig which is nice a lot of USB 3

Asus ROG Maximus Hero XIII Z590 Preview

I am satisfied with this board but there are a number of things that do not work in the BIOS, at least with a 10900K. Also, even though Asus are still selling this board, they haven't had a BIOS or ME firmware update since the beginning of the year. The audio outputs also have/had static. I tried to fix this with their audio firmware fix and driver fix to no avail

 I removed the plastic shroud over the PCH heat sink (which also has the led Asus log), and got about 10c cooler. But the logo LED on the motherboard are now shining bare.  But despite all of that, so far this overclocks nicely on CPU and RAM. Running at 5

2 GHz all cores and my 3200CL14 memory overclocked to 4100 16-16-36 with very tight timings.  I would say this hasn't got much attention from Asus because the 11th gen was a stopgap to the 12th gen.

Very decent board, but some things don't work

 The motherboard is able to OC memory very well, but the profiles that you get there may not necessarily work for you depending on the DRAM that you have. For the benchmarks and just evaluating the rig, I ended up settling at 4266 CL16, and you can see the Geekbench 3 score. It's under 10k, but it's like a high 9, 9,800 or so. Subsequently, since then, I've been able to do a lot higher than that, take it to almost 11k, but at the time when I was recording this video, that was where I was

 I personally believe that. From what I've seen on this board, like I said, dual 2.5G LAN, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Thunderbolt, Gen 4, M.2s, tons of fan headers, tons of USB ports, tons of overclocking profiles when they do work, there's really nothing to force this motherboard at

 So a lot of the performance figures that I got were for 4266. So imagine you had bought this motherboard at the time, and this is all you could get. You would be kind of disappointed, and you would be thinking that, oh, Rocket Lake is supposed to overclock memory better, and this motherboard is supposed to have memory profiles and just be better at overclocking anything. And yet here I am stuck at the same DRAM frequencies I could have done with Comet Lake or even before

 It's a pricey beast, so let's see what you get for your money. Let's talk about it, and if you're new to this channel, please consider subscribing. So first off, this is a big board with plenty of features. It is ready for the 11th gen Intel processors, but it also supports the 10th gen should you wish to use it before the next gen CPUs are available

 We've got a massive amount of options in terms of storage, IO and cooling. I would say this amount of features probably best suited for somebody who is building out an epic rig to do both gaming as well as some productivity tasks. My only concern is that Intel has reduced their maximum amount of cores on their latest CPUs down to 8, thus making this caliber motherboard potentially a dead end. So anyone planning to build a high-end machine, do consider what you'll be doing now and in the next few years

 On the right hand side we have 4 DIMM slots supporting dual channel DDR4 memory with speeds up to 5333MHz and total maximum capacity of 128GB. If you plan to go with some crazy fast RAM, please review the memory qualified vendor list on ASUS website. Heading down the board we finally have PCIe gen 4 support. Welcome to the future Intel

 The small board is using 14 plus 2 teamed power stages rated at 90A. For that you'll have the two 8 pin power connections at the top. On the right hand side we have 4 DIMM slots supporting dual channel DDR4 memory with speeds up to 5333MHz and total maximum capacity of 128GB. Z590 ASUS ROG Maximus XIII Hero - Who is it for?

No thumb drive.

 The experience so far has been magnificent. I set it up, installed Windows on there and got it running really nicely. And it's running better than my previous motherboard, which I was obviously having problems with. The bonus of this motherboard is a multitude of USB ports

 So I have some sticks, of course there's Dominator RAM, I bought 64 gigabytes, which might sound like a lot, but for video editing purposes, it makes life really easy. And here you can see the installation of the NVMe drives. It's obviously I've done a video on separately that you might have seen on how to install them really easy, but you can see how some of them are upside down and the heat shield protects them and ends up with a nice bit of a setup. So now I'm at the stage of mostly being complete

 And it's running better than my previous motherboard, which I was obviously having problems with. The bonus of this motherboard is a multitude of USB ports. And believe me, I use all of those, all the different things I'm testing on a regular basis. So it's really nice to have that many

 The M2 screws are on the motherboard already, so that was nice. You don't have to worry about extra. Also, this one screw holds two drives in, which is a pretty cool design. And this one doesn't even require them to screw because the heat sink just goes down over the top of it and screws down into it, which is really nifty

 The AIO pump header did not provide enough voltage so I switched it to the CPU_opt header

 These results are from the AI overclocking tool only. If only I had a newer gen. GPU :C. My only snag in setup was installing the AIO water cooler

 Speaking of which, you get four M2 slots with this board, and that's just plain impressive. So let's quickly go over the specs. You get the latest and greatest Wi-Fi 6E, two controllers for 2.5 gigabit ethernet, a comprehensive USB 3

 So make your decision accordingly. To sum up, what we like here is that it's arguably one of the best-looking Z590 boards. A whopping four M2 slots, incredible thermal design and VRM cooling, high performance networking, and the Armory Crate and Aorus Sync work well. On the downside, it is very pricey for the average gamer, and it's not suitable for minimalistic builds

 Connectivity? 9 out of 10. Value for money? 8 out of 10. For an overall rating of 8.75 out of 10

 The ROG Maximus Hero is an evident example of a great high-end board. Featuring an impressive spec sheet, high-end controllers, and a robust power delivery system, this beast has the potential to future-proof for almost a decade down the line, especially if you take full advantage of it. Design-wise, and this is personal preference, it is arguably the best-looking Z590 motherboard on the market. This is thanks to the all-black PCB and heatsinks

 So whatever. I opened the box, the motherboard was obviously opened already. I could tell from fingerprints and a hair in the box. Yuck! Anyway, I set it all up in my system and what do we have here, I can only have one drive running at a time

So I had a massive sticker on the box that says “advanced detection” in handwriting. Amazon said to contact asus and asus says they never put anything like that. So whatever. I opened the box, the motherboard was obviously opened already

 Makes no sense. After messing around in the bios, I managed to finally get my other 5 drives working no thanks to asus what so ever. If you are not experienced in pc building and you get stuck with the motherboard, asus will not help. I can provide more help
