 I Tested this to find out. so is it any good? Well the first thing we need to do is get it out of the box and this was very easy to do because it's all pretty simple and ready to go and then once you plunk it on your desk, it's the usual Rog Swift affair where the whole stand and just the whole finish and all of that looks really premium and feels very nice. You've got really nice and slim bezels probably some of the best in the business and the stand has all the adjustments you need so it goes up and down. it swivels left and right and it pivots as well to the left

Asus ROG Swift PG279Q G-Sync Monitor Review

 G-sync monitor is quite simply the Ultimate martyr. What more do you need? Short rides are pretty cool, but I saw some issues with on Twitter on by 9 aspect ratio. Some of you will be sort of hardcore PC enthusiasts with your 980ti Sli setups and want 4k. but for most people, the 2560 by 1440 resolution is sort of the resolution sweet spot sharper than Full HD but not quite the framerate destroying resolution that 4k is

 So I really do need a color accurate IPS Manta for that. but then in the evening or the weekend I might play some games and that's where the high refresh rate really comes in handy. A 165 Hertz refresh is just ridiculously good. Well, technically it's one for four overclockable to 165 through the monitors on-screen display, but either way it makes everything look and feel silky smooth

 Response time is perfect for gamers, but wait a minute. What about TN monitors like the PG 27 80 which have got back here, but it's 1 millisecond response time isn't that better for gamers? Well of course that is a fantastic monitor as well. It's to hardcore gamers will want lower response times, but as I discussed in my IPS was a TN Martyr video, it's actually the combination of response time and input like that you wanna look out for. and this the PG 27 9 Q actually beat the TM model with its combined lower lag

 A 165 Hertz refresh is just ridiculously good. Well, technically it's one for four overclockable to 165 through the monitors on-screen display, but either way it makes everything look and feel silky smooth. That is a full 21 Hertz higher than the Asus PG 20s and 8 Q not that you could Li tell the difference. The monitor also supports G-sync so screen tearing is a thing of the past or if you prefer, you can enable the ultra-low motion blow or you LM beef I can get right to reduce motion blur in games, out of which combined with a high refresh rate makes a seriously good gaming monitor

I currently have a 1660s hooked up to a 1080p 144hz monitor. Been wanting to upgrade to 1440p, but because of the current GPU prices I likely wont be upgrading the GPU.

And I very much doubt a 1660s could run 1440. So, would already getting the 1440p monitor, but running it at 1080p in games be smart? Would that look worse than a native 1080p panel?

EDIT: Thank you all very much for the opinions and guidance. For anyone looking into this same thing, here&#39;s a TLDR:

1080p on a 1440p monitor will look blurry (1920x1200 can apparently fix the blur, but will make the picture stretch). You can make the game window in windowed mode smaller to match 1080p exactly to avoid this.

1080p on 4k should look fine since 4k is a direct upscale from 1080. 1080p - &gt; 2160.

A 1660 super should perform well enough in 1440p, that unless you&#39;re a fps hog or play super competitive shooters, you should be just fine.

Does running 1080p on a 1440p monitor look bad?

 The TN panel that just couldn't deliver the color, performance, and viewing angles of an IPS display and that's where the PG 2, 7, 9s upgraded guts are starting to I'm in. the 27-inch 1440p panel has been changed out to IPS And on top of that, the 144 hertz maximum refresh rate that made the original Swift such an amazing gaming display assuming you had the kind of hardware horses to push that kind of framerate in your games has been upgraded and through a setting in the on screen menu can be pushed even further. So with Nvidia G-sync variable refresh rate technology, you can run your display at anywhere from 30 to 165 Hertz depending on the frame rate that your game is being output at. And that's not the only thing that comes with the newer G-sync implementation

Hello guys, i need some recommendations to blindly buy the best 1440p 144hz monitor (for a budget under $300 and for under $400). 


This by far has been my hardest piece to pick, too much to look for: VA vs IPS, no screen backlight (which seems to be the problem on most ones i find like the Acer Nitro XV272U, but, is it really an issue or am i giving it too much?), gsync compartible (or freesync if possible to use with nvidia), Curve pannel vs flat pannel, etc.


The best ones I've found under 300 are the Acer Nitro xv272U (with the issue of backlight), and the AOC  CQ27G2 (around 250ish but is VA?).


For under 400 ive got the LG 27GL83A-B (no issues here aside from being 100 usd more expensive than the under 300 ones) 


Could you please throw me in the correct direction? The only thing I'm 100% sure i dont want is a TN pannel because of the viewing angles, aside from that, I'm overwhelmed by the rest of the specs. Will be pairing it with an RTX 3070.
