Although budget G-SYNC monitors are hard to find and aren't as cheap as other budget gaming monitors, you can still find a few G-SYNC monitors that cost less than the ViewSonic Elite XG270QG, like the ASUS ROG Swift 360Hz PG259QN. It's a great monitor with a lower 1080p resolution and a smaller screen compared to the ViewSonic, which is the trade-off you have to make for getting a cheaper monitor. However, it also has a higher 360Hz refresh rate, meaning this monitor is ideal if you like playing high-frame-rate games and you don't mind a lower resolution to not put much stress on the graphics card.

The gaming experience is unique because it's intended for competitive gamers with its fast refresh rate, so it's great if you can take advantage of it. Even if you don't hit the full 360Hz refresh rate, it delivers a great gaming experience as it has exceptionally low input lag and a fast response time, with very little blur behind fast-moving objects. It has native G-SYNC support like the ASUS ROG Swift PG279QM that lets you take full advantage of your NVIDIA graphics card, but unlike the PG279QM, it doesn't support NVIDIA's Reflex Latency Analyzer.

Larger-sized monitors are the norm now, but smaller models have their benefits and are popular for some uses. 24 and 25-inch monitors offer enough screen space for gaming, and it's easier to see everything in your field of vision, like maps, during competitive gaming. Incredible Monitor, Possibly not plug-n-play

 Now if you've been keeping up with the gaming monitor scene lately, then you'll know that IPS panels are getting very, very quick. Not only are there a ton of high refresh rate IPS monitors out there on the market right now, but the response times are also catching up to TN, in some cases even beating them. And I think that the color accuracy of your gaming monitor is hugely underrated when it comes to competitive titles. A lot of gamers will take a faster panel over anything, but what is that speed worth if the panel can't display a wide gamut of colors and accurately? This is something that I first realized when I tested the 240Hz IPS MAG251RX from MSI

 That's a 27-inch, 1440p curved 240Hz display which is going to give you a much better pixel density and gaming experience for slower paced titles. And then as a much more affordable alternative, I can highly recommend MSI's 240Hz IPS that I mentioned earlier which can be had for around $250 less and that will probably be the more suitable choice for most of you. And just coming back to that 360Hz refresh rate, at the end of the day, although I can't consistently tell the difference between this and 240Hz, that doesn't mean that I couldn't potentially game better at 360Hz. After all, you're definitely not going to game worse on a higher refresh rate panel, so 360Hz only serves to add to your competitive gaming experience, even if the difference is slim

 And just coming back to that 360Hz refresh rate, at the end of the day, although I can't consistently tell the difference between this and 240Hz, that doesn't mean that I couldn't potentially game better at 360Hz. After all, you're definitely not going to game worse on a higher refresh rate panel, so 360Hz only serves to add to your competitive gaming experience, even if the difference is slim. So this will likely be the gaming monitor that replaces my 240Hz TN Alienware, and I've got to say I will not be missing those TN colours for sure. And I'm not bothered by the slightly slower pixel response times that result in a bit more smearing

 360Hz, that's a number I did not expect to see on a gaming monitor for quite a while, and yet here we have it alongside a 1ms claimed response time, G-Sync, and an IPS panel, and ASUS have packaged all of that into this, the 24.5 inch PG259QN. This thing, plain and simply, is the fastest gaming monitor that you can buy right now, but is it really worth it over 240Hz? Can you actually notice a difference? That's something that I'm really interested to find out, because as an esports gamer myself, faster is always better. So what does this thing actually like to game on, and can I even tell the difference between 240Hz and 360Hz? Let's take a look

Gaming at 360Hz! Asus PG259QN Review

 So 1080p is a good resolution for the screen size. If it was any bigger, I would like 1440p. But A, that is really, really far off. We're probably not going to see that for four years or so

 360Hz fast IPS technology with a real NVIDIA G-SYNC controller, actually one of their new G-SYNC modules that supports FreeSync as well. And this monitor does have a 1 millisecond response time. For the majority of my review, I use the G-SYNC eSports mode. Say that 10 times fast, I dare you

 This one is a 25-inch panel with fast IPS technology, 360Hz refresh rate, and real G-Sync. Finally, I don't know why a lot of high-end monitors have not been coming out with real G-Sync. That drives me bonkers. No idea why

 For the majority of my review, I use the G-SYNC eSports mode. Say that 10 times fast, I dare you. If I was to use something else, I would probably just use the scenery mode and crank the brightness up as much as I can. But I'll talk about the color on the monitor real quick because the color reproduction on it is actually really, really good

ASUS 360Hz Monitor REVIEW - Is It Worth $700?(PG259QN)

 I think the only limiting factor is the resolution but then again 1080p is the only way you're going to get anything close to 360fps in game so of course it makes sense being a gaming monitor. It is also marketed as supporting high dynamic range or HDR so if I turn it on in the window settings and then if I refresh this page 1080p HDR. So you can technically get high dynamic range out of this but it's not that impressive to be honest. It doesn't even support the basic display HDR 400 spec so it's not something I'd use very often and I suspect if you are an enthusiast gamer it's not something you'd even probably play with anyway

 So Pete behind the camera is going to switch the refresh rates. I'm not going to know which one's which and then let's see if I can get it right. Okay, first test. Okay, first one

 We don't get any built-in speakers which isn't ideal but I guess it's to be expected because if you're going to buy something like this chances are you have a good pair of gaming headphones anyway. Importantly though the so-called fast IPS panel does exactly what it needs to. Being IPS the viewing angles are good and at around 500 nits of brightness it's easy to see even in a well-lit room. So image quality really is very good on this

 Okay, we're going to start this video with a blind test. Will I be able to tell the difference between 144, 240 and 360Hz because this is a 360Hz monitor. So Pete behind the camera is going to switch the refresh rates. I'm not going to know which one's which and then let's see if I can get it right
