 In bright rooms such as during daylight hours, the PG-42UQ's reflection handling gives it the edge and helps counter the relatively low brightness output of these OLEDs for desktop or SDI usage. The PG-42UQ is also quite a large display, though I think the 42-inch size is manageable on a desk as it can be used at a normal viewing distance. It's about 12cm wider than the AW3423DW and obviously a lot taller as well, providing 72% more screen real estate than a 32-inch display. This is a massive and very immersive monitor, but it's not as crazy as the 48-inch OLEDs we had previously, and I think this 42-inch size is about as large as I'd want to go on a desk

Which One Stays on the Desk?

Beautiful but defective

My four year old 32" Samsung monitor has bitten the dust and so I'm looking for a replacement. I'd like something a bit bigger.

The LG OLED C2 needs no introduction, but here's the [Rog Strix 43"](https://www.amazon.co.uk/ASUS-Strix-XG438QR-Gaming-Monitor/dp/B08QS8LBPV) I was thinking of.

On paper, the LG C2 (which I think will be released within a month or two) sounds the better bet because it's OLED, but then again, it is supposed to be a TV. Or does that not matter any more? Who cares if it's a """TV""" right if I want to use it a monitor for Windows 10 + gaming? Clarity surely isn't an issue because well, it's OLED and 4k? In fact I don't know why clarity was ever an issue with LCD TVs in the first place if they're digital and even 1080p.

So on paper, there's a lot that's similar. They're 4k, have gsync/vsync, excellent response times, 120Hz, 42-43" and cost around £1000. But obviously the LG has a big advantage in that it's OLED. Does the Rog have any advantage over the LG for my use case?

I’ve bought the AW34 and I think my hopes were just too high. Being a QLED, it’s very similar to my Samsung TV despite costing more and being smaller. 

Obviously that’s the cost of convenience and development as of now, but does anyone have any suggestions on which monitors might be higher quality screens - I run a 3090

I’m thinking OLED but ideally wanting a monitor rather than a TV… potentially a Neo G9?
