Looking for suggestions for new skiis

5' 6", ~140lbs, intermediate-advanced skier

Will be skiing in the northeast, think I'd like to get somthing in 95-100 waist range.

Did slalom skiing in HS and still running the same intermediate skiis since, at this point I feel like they are holding me a back quite a bit. I'm very comfortable on groomers and can confidently go quick on most blacks, though there are still some black groomers I need to keep it slow for, especially if it's choppy. Really struggling on moguls and glades, and would like more versatile skiis that can handle those better and work better on powder and crud. 

Tried out some Elan Ripsticks 96 and enjoyed them quite a bit more than my current skis, though not exactly what I'm looking for. They were very nice on the powder, but felt like they were a little bit too flexible in some situations with harder snow which will be more common for me in the northeast. Felt great when carving, but I felt like I was fighting them when trying to skid. Considering the Black edition Ripsticks, as I feel the higher stiffness would suit my style more. Some others in my radar are the Salomon QST, ON3P Woodsman, Volkl Karana, and Volkl Revolt. While not what I'm looking for here, my favorite skiis that I've had a chance to try where Volkl Racetiger SLs (on groomers of course)

Any suggestions or skiing tips would be much appreciated.

East coast ski suggestions

 We've been doing a bunch of different stuff today, right Bob? Yeah, and this is our second solid day on these, and we've had pretty good, I would say, Maverick 100 Ti conditions. I think so. Little new snow, a lot of different types of terrain, so we've got a good mix of terrain and conditions for these. Yep

 Pretty cool skis. I'm really excited to get back in the studio and kind of show you how it compares to some skis of the past from Atomic, and kind of talk about influences and what went into this new design, because I think it's really cool. We've been doing a bunch of different stuff today, right Bob? Yeah, and this is our second solid day on these, and we've had pretty good, I would say, Maverick 100 Ti conditions. I think so

 You know that shape just worked really, really well to do a variety of different stuff. So that's it, that's the Maverick 100 from Atomic for 2022.  We really put this thing through the test and didn't really find a whole lot of weak points on this ski. We think it's a pretty good upgrade from the Vantage skis from years past. Definitely sits in the advanced to expert category for skier type. If you know how to bend a ski, you're going to be really happy on this

2 meter turn radius, and that's on the longer side for a ski of this length and for this width as well. So a longer turn shape it prefers, but thanks to the cap in the tip and tail and the thinner metal you can manipulate the turn shape to make it shorter, helps you out in the woods and the bumps, any adverse conditions. We really put this thing through the test and didn't really find a whole lot of weak points on this ski. We think it's a pretty good upgrade from the Vantage skis from years past

 Tip and tail rocker, and they do put in a cap, the sidewall underfoot tapers to a cap right about where the rocker starts in the tips and tails. So as these Maverick skis get wider, that rocker profile increases as well. Pretty good ski in the softer snow. We got it out probably a handful of times this year in a variety of conditions, mostly softer snow, and we were pretty impressed with how it handled those conditions, but you'd also get it out on the groomer, and this thing really lit it up

 There's also like a cool amount of early taper to the tail here, so that's kind of going along with that rocker and making the ski just less catchy in the tail. So that really comes in handy if you're skiing like a tight chute somewhere, if you're skiing a tight tree line, you really need to get the ski to come around behind you quickly and efficiently without like taking too much of your effort. That tail just does a great job with that. So very, very well rounded, you know, we've had like ripping testers on them, people with race backgrounds, and just watching what they can do with them is pretty crazy, but then you can get on them and kind of flick them around, and there's some playfulness to it too, which I think is sweet

 I think you do lose a little bit of edge-to-edge quickness and carving performance compared to the 95 and 88 Ti, but it's still pretty good on firm snow and it's a ton of fun when you take it off trail too. Something that I think is interesting is Atomic has three skis that are 100 underfoot that share relatively similar shapes, so towards the end of this video we can speak a little bit about how those are different from each other and who is best choosing which. I don't know if I worded that correctly, but whatever. This ski is really cool in how they build it

 But if you want the combination of all of those elements, this is easily one of the best on the market. You do get good edge grip, you know, you get good vibration damping, you get good stability from that construction, but when you take it off trail, you're really benefiting from the fact that it has a little more rocker than most skis in this category, that it's a little lighter than most skis in this category, and that you get that horizon tech. There's also like a cool amount of early taper to the tail here, so that's kind of going along with that rocker and making the ski just less catchy in the tail. So that really comes in handy if you're skiing like a tight chute somewhere, if you're skiing a tight tree line, you really need to get the ski to come around behind you quickly and efficiently without like taking too much of your effort

 So in this ski you kind of get the benefits of both worlds, so to speak. We also get Horizon Tech in the tips of these skis, so that's kind of borrowed from their more freeride-oriented skis. Just increases the performance in soft snow, gives this tip, the whole forebody of the ski, just a little bit more adaptability, whether you're hitting a pocket of soft snow or whether you're hitting like an unexpectedly firm mogul. I think having that design in the tip really helps, just gives this ski a more user-friendly feel, just more versatility for different snow conditions

Had my eye on the Kore 99's since last year. Until I demoed these while in Colorado. These skis are stable and responsive in all areas are are super light.
