AudioQuest DragonFly Red

- Audioquest Dragonfly Red as a DAC for my iPad or Laptop to Listen to Spotify or Qobuz. - Apple-Router-thingy for Airplay (connected via Toslink). As I said, this is my first attempt to create a enjoyable listening experience. So far it sounds better than anything I’ve owned before.

All the buttons and switches feel first rate, no quality control fails of any kind and it has plenty of power through single ended to push my 6XX and 600. Because the Asgard is four years old and is only an amplifier, I’ve been pairing it with the dragonfly red for its DAC capabilities. The combination of the dragonfly and Asgard is/was surprisingly capable and may match or outperform other stack solutions in the same combined price point of $400.

Instead of everyone making you feel foolish for being interested in HiRes music, you could try an Audioquest Dragonfly (red or cobalt) with an Apple lightning to usb Camera adaptor. It should work, then YOU can decide if you like lossless Hi Res music. Hope this helps! !.

Dragonfly red or cobalt. You should buy them used though. I regretted buying them at retail pricing, but thier sound is really clean, and they're powerful enough that I could I could drive my 6xx of my phone using them. You might be able to find other cheaper chinese options, but if you can get one of these used I'd say they'll perform better than those chinese ones.
