If you are just looking for 1080p then ignore that other poster saying you can't get a gaming projector. The Optoma GT1080HDR and BenQ TH685 will both deliver very pleasing 1080p HDR images upto 120hz with lag times at 16ms or less in their gaming modes. If you want 4K then it's harder and you will be limited to 60fps and some elevated lag times.

Need Help! I am buying a gaming projector and want to know which specs/features need the most attention?

  I spent a fair amount of time debating 1080p/HD vs 4K, and came to the conclusion that there's not enough difference in quality to justify the extra cost of 4K projectors if you don't *need* 4K. Since I use mostly 1080p content with some 720p, and most advice was that a 1080p toward the top of the HD price range is going to be as good as or better than a 4K projector that costs more, I decided to go for an HD one. I was concerned because of the anticipated screen size and viewing distance, but sitting 10' away from an ~95" screen it looks great, and even 720p looks fine. But again, I'm not a videophile

Gaming Projector

This review is particular for people who are upgrading from the HT1075. While on paper the specs on throw distance, lens and zoom ratio appear to be exactly the same, in reality the throw distance was not the same as my old HT1075 at all.  I previously had a HT1075 and due to a failing fan and dust blobs in the lens that I inadvertently caused because I'm an idiot, I decided it was time to upgrade. I really wanted the HT2250 for 4K quality but unfortunately due to my home setup I still require horizontal keystone correction

Careful upgrading if your previous projector was an HT1075

I've been tasked with getting a decent projector setup for my office and unfortunately know very little about them. I've spent a decent amount of time scroll through threads to pick up opinions however whenever I think I've found the perfect solution... I cannot seem to find the model in stock anywhere in the UK.

The model I've been looking at closest is the BenQ HT2050a (known as the W1110 in the EU) as it seems to offer the best solution to my somewhat scattered needs.

**Maximum budget.**  
£1000 (based in London)  


**Screen size.**  
100"  


**Distance from back wall or preferred mounting position to screen wall.**  
4m is optimal  but not particularly fussy about this.  


**Seating distance to screen.**  
4-10m (generally a room of people)  


**How will you mount? (ceiling, rear shelf, table)**  
Ceiling mount  


**Usage: Movies, TV, Games, Sports, etc.**  
Movies, presentations, gaming and 3D. We're a creative music agency and work with a tonne of different mediums hence the unconventional range.
