Backpacking tent advice

 The body and fly materials are more rugged than lighter tents, which is probably why they are heavier. The zippers and stitching are higher quality than I expected based on the price. Everything feels high quality and well made, which is what I would expect from Big Agnes tents that cost twice as much. The tradeoffs are significant though and you should definitely factor them in before pulling the trigger

 The tent isn't light, and it's bulkier than you'd expect in your pack. The one door is annoying too. And the interior room.

Great value

Been researching for a few hours now, I'm a side sleeper who just came back from a three-day camping trip where I got a total of three hours of sleep due to a sleeping pad that deflated on me.  I'm looking for something comfortable for a side-sleeper and that I don't have to worry about deflating.  I really couldn't care less about weight or cost.  I've read several top-20 lists that indicate several of the old top recommendations in this bracket have moved from 75D to 50D (or lower) material in pursuit of weight gains and more profit (which, of course, are antithetical to what I'm looking for.)  Reviews since the 2020 period I'm seeing on higher-end stuff seems to back this up, I'm seeing plenty of reports of failures where pre-2020 reviews don't really show many/any.

What exists in this bracket?  I'm not in search of an ultralight, just something that actually keeps my hip off the ground and that I don't have to worry about deflating on me.  Because god help me, the next time that happens to me is the last time I go camping.

Side Sleeper Seeking Something That WILL NOT deflate on me.

light enough for multi-day use, solidly built, easy to set up.  I did not however, look at the footprint measurements and it does not fit our double mat.  Not the fault of the tent, but as others have mentioned, it is a tight squeeze for two.  Was expecting just a little more room

There are probably much better tents out there...

I use the Big Agnes C-Bar 2 and absolutely love it. It’s small and light enough to use solo (4lbs packed weight, 3.5 trail weight) but is rated as a 2 person tent so can fit you and a partner albeit a bit snug. It’s really affordable considering the quality of Big Agnes products and you can tell it’s a quality tent and that they didn’t take any shortcuts to make it affordable

I am looking to purchase a 2 person tent and am currently looking at the REI Co-op Quarter Dome SL 2, the REI Co-op Half Dome SL 2+ and the Gossamer Gear The Two. 

I would prefer to spend less and am leaning towards one of the REI options, but wanted to hear reviews from more traveled backpackers!

I am newer to backpacking, 5'7", 145lbs, and will mostly be using it solo and occasionally with a friend.

Tent Recommendations / Review for a 2 Person?

  By price is right for a beginner like not wanting to invest too much.  Only complaint is the ventilation can only rely on the top opening of the vestibule door, which become not possible during the raining.
