This model uses a really simple and efficient design, which keeps the weight down and lets the vacuum strike an optimal balance between runtime and performance. This vacuum's light enough that it can even be used on stairs as long as you find a good way to cradle it.

6 years is a good life to get out of that Bissell Zing, so I'd move up to one of the $250-300 buy-it-for-life canisters. Any of these three would fine in your case.

Within your budget, I'd suggest either the $60 Bissell Zing (bagged) or $70 Eureka Mighty Mite. These can be paired with HEPA bags for much better filtration and cleaning performance as the bag fills up. You can also upgrade the hard floor tools to something well-regarded like a Wessel Werk D330 or RD285 Designation (same manufacturer that makes tools for the high-end vacuum brands).

If you have your heart set on a bagless canister, the [Bissell is a way better deal. If you want an even better affordable canister, definitely go with the [bagged Bissell [Eureka Mighty [Vacmaster or the [Kenmore 200 The Bissell, Eureka, and Vacmaster would be great for a house with hard floors or a tiny bit of carpet especially with the addition of a basic turbo nozzle like the Wessel-Werk TK280.
