If you don't get it in there quite right, you won't be able to close the lid, so you have to make sure there's a big detent see how that kind of sticks out and there's a pot spot for it right there. So when you've got your coffee pot in there, it's pressing up on that plunger letting and when you press up on that plunger, it allows the coffee to come out of the filter basket and when the when the coffee pot is removed, it it stops it. Now

 The filter basket. Now you have to put a filter in here and that's where you put your coffee grounds, but when they're cleaning it sometimes that little rubber washer comes off and that plunger in the bottom comes off and they don't know how it goes back together. So i'm going to show you that i'm also going to show you that your stainless steel craft's got a button, you press and if you look on the back side of it, it's got an o-ring and an o-ring. Here, i'm going to show you those two

I could only conclude that the carafe was fine and the coffee brewing temp was no where near the 200 it needs to be. I tested it with two different instant probes straight from the water sprayer as it was brewing and saw an average reading of 187 degrees

 I bought another very popular brand (Japanese warrior) with a burner plate. That one only brews at 192 but keeps it drinkable at 140 for the hour I need.

 This might be fine for some people for the first cup, but not hot enough to make good coffee, and definitely not hot enough to keep in the carafe for the hour I needed. I gave it to a family member who only brews 4 cups at a time and drinks it immediately after brewing. I bought another very popular brand (Japanese warrior) with a burner plate.  It make sure i got my lid down we're gon na time it and see how long the brew later uh takes, and i will do a taste test at the end of this brew later. So i can tell already this is going to get it just as just a dad stickers seal of approval, i'm very impressed with this coffee maker. It is 50, which can be a little high for a coffee maker, but again this display there's nothing too fancy about it. It is simple to set um, maybe that's kind of why i would like to see that maybe just be a little different

 But i got to make sure to put the lid on when i'm done, and i put it underneath the coffee maker. But it's a little easier to see the water and the water goes in a little quicker without the lid on miss fiona wants to help me hi fiona she's, my buddy she's, always helping me with my reviews. Okay, so i've got the water. It can be a little hard, but we're gon na use the the glass or the view on the front to see how much water we've added okay so see

 So again, it's a basket style you're, just gon na put it in here kind of push it down, make sure it's hugging the wall, we're gon na put our coffee grounds right there in the middle okay. Before we begin, i want to talk about this. This is the brew basket. You always have to have this in there now there's a little there's a little plastic washer down there

 It'S just. This is noticeably a longer brew. Okay, so it's finally finishing up the the strong brew that took 20 minutes. So that's an extremely long brew: let's see how it tastes to do a temperature check so yeah about 170 - maybe just a little 172, 173

.  the carafe does NOT keep the coffee hot - barely keeps it warm.  That's the main feature of this product and in order to really get it to function the way it should you have to heat up water and pour it in the carafe.  It should sit there for awhile giving it time to heat up the inside of the carafe

  The concept is fantastic but the only way to get the carafe feature to work properly is to heat up the inside first then make the coffee.  That then defeats the purpose of the programmable timer feature. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

 The thermal pot does not keep the coffee "hot", even when filled with the recommended "hot water" warm up prior to brewing. After approximately 6 months of use, the thermal pot leaks when pouring. Personally having to either microwave enough hot water or run the faucet to "pre-heat" the thermal pot is a waste of energy, reheating coffee in the microwave, and the inability to use the "programmable brewing" feature is something for you to consider if purchasing. I would neither recommend or would buy (again) this coffeemaker
