 So you know, kind of picture a long thin H, you know, coming out, extending to the edges underfoot and having cutouts in the tails and in the forebody of the ski. So that extra metal kind of over the edge of the forebody here and through the tail till about there really gives you that extra boost of energy on hard snow. These things are 100 millimeters underfoot, so it's that wider carving ski, you know, it's blurring that line between all-mountain and freeride. You know, the build of the ski definitely lends more towards the frontside and the carving aspect of the ski, while the shaping of it is more on the freeride end

 And when you see the rocker profile, you'll definitely understand why that's the case. Just a pretty, you know, obscene amount of tail rocker in this thing. Very well turned up, built into the ski, you know, it really starts jutting up about the end of the metal frame at the tail. And then, you know, pretty similar in the tip, you know, long and, you know, low to start but pretty decent splay up at the top

 Even with that metal in there that's stiffening the ski from the central back, this tail with that heavy splay in the rocker is going to float really, really well. So pretty interesting stuff from Black Crows, you know, they're never really afraid to push the boundaries and try out new things. And this Justice is a really good example of that. This is a 177, has a 20 meter radius, so that's kind of a nod to that all-mountain personality where you can make some longer turns

 Very well turned up, built into the ski, you know, it really starts jutting up about the end of the metal frame at the tail. And then, you know, pretty similar in the tip, you know, long and, you know, low to start but pretty decent splay up at the top. But the tail is really where it, really where you can tell the difference. You know, and that's just going to give you that soft snow performance

As the title says, I am a former high level racer and am living on the East Coast. My whole life I've only ever skied on Race Skis (with the exception of renting when I did some backcountry in Europe) but now that my racing days are well behind me, I am looking for a more all-around ski that will perform well in an East Coast winter, as well as something I could bring on a West Coast trip and not feel like a dummy with race skis on a big mountain.

My biggest hesitation when it comes to choosing a new ski is that it won't be responsive enough or have enough "performance" compared to a race ski, however I want something that I can still carve groomers, play in the trees, and handle those icy/cruddy east coast days. 

Any advice or recommendations are appreciated, hoping I can get something for this season (Trips to Sugarloaf, Lake Louise and Tremblant planned for the winter).

Ski Recommendations for a former Racer??

 We're pretty much on snow every day now testing skis, so let us know if there's anything in particular you want to see, and we'll talk to you soon.

 Really cool ski. I'm looking forward to skiing it a little bit more this season, and I definitely think it's a worthy replacement for the Daemon and Novice. I really liked skiing the Daemon. That was kind of a weird ski in that it was flat and used as much metal as it did, but a lot of the things that I was able to do on the Daemon, like high-speed edge release and a high-speed kind of slash and skid turn, you can do that on the Justice pretty darn well

 So we have some kind of variable snow conditions at Stowe right now, we're still in early season, so you've got a big mix of conditions on the mountain right now, and yeah, I was able to take these and really just kind of see how they did on pretty big radius arcing turns at fairly high speeds, and they don't get bounced around where some other lighter skis would get bounced around by kind of the variations or the choppiness of the snow surface. These track really, really well. They kind of ask for an active, engaging skier. Not to say that somebody kind of less aggressive couldn't ski them, but I think they really shine on the feet of somebody who's willing and wants to tell the ski what to do

* Black Crows Justis 177 / 183 (Too fat for daily on piste skiing, but nice all arounder? Looks chargiest of all listed skis? Not sure about length?).

 They hooked up on groomers, bash through crud, and stomp hits without the stability ever weavering. It was the perfect dimensions for my height and weight at 5'11" 150 lbs however I could see myself rocking the 188s just because of the less weight. The twin tip shape was super playful and these skis could butter around the mountain with ease. I personally found them to chatter a tiny bit at high speeds but for what you are getting it's manageable

These skis are as amazing as they look! While this ski is not my riding style I could see how someone could FALL IN LOVE WITH THEM! The lightness of this ski was outstanding. I have truly never felt a ski function so well whilst maintaining that weight. They hooked up on groomers, bash through crud, and stomp hits without the stability ever weavering. It was the perfect dimensions for my height and weight at 5'11" 150 lbs however I could see myself rocking the 188s just because of the less weight

 For my riding style these skis were, simply put, too light and lacked the power I need, however, if you're looking for a Rockies one ski quiver that is SUPER playful, these are the skis for you. Get them before they sell out!!

The Stoke Is REAL

 Very much what you'd expect of a ski that falls between the Bent Chetler 100 and 120 in Atomic's lineup, and should be a winner for the freestyle-oriented freerider who loves to trick it up or the creative skier looking for backcountry flexibility. A plus is the best new graphic for 2023.

Super balanced and quite light, the new Bent 110 changes direction easily no matter what speed the skier is travelling at. Edgehold is adequate if not inspired, the new Bent offering skis a bit "short" (me: 5'8" 175 on the 180). Very much what you'd expect of a ski that falls between the Bent Chetler 100 and 120 in Atomic's lineup, and should be a winner for the freestyle-oriented freerider who loves to trick it up or the creative skier looking for backcountry flexibility. A plus is the best new graphic for 2023

Sweet Addition!

This the perfect in between of the 120 Bent Chetlers and the 100s not to mention the toposheets are as beautiful as ever. This is the perfect ski for someone who spends as much time in the resort as they do in the backcountry. Id recommend this to anyone who loves to skis powder and varied conditions however they may be too much on icy and groomed runs so if that's more your speed id recommend checking out the narrower skis in the Bent line up.

The best of both worlds

Could for sure see myself using these as a daily driver! Loved the way they carved as well as rode on powder. There was a lot of expectations for me with these skis and they met almost all of them! I did notice at high speeds they were a bit chattery.. still a great ski to ride in nearly every condition

Field Tested - 2023 Atomic Bent 110 Skis Review

 The flex pattern and shape is closer to the 120 so it definitely carries that surfy playful feel from its larger brother. I'd say the 110 is definitely more suitable for someone riding on the west coast where the conditions are always changing but you can still rip it all over if you wanted to. Was surprised how well it hooked and held an edge on groomers but still flexible enough for butters and presses. If you're someone on the west coast and looking for a do-it-all one ski quiver with elements of a freeride/freestyle ski the Atomic Bent 110 is the ski for you!

The all new Bent 110 from Atomic is hands down my favorite ski for the 22/23 season. With elements of both the 120 and 100 this ski fits perfectly between those two while being narrow enough to rip on groomers and definitely wide enough for some fresh deep snow.
