The Blizzard Brahma is for the skier who finds themselves in everything from groomers to moguls to trees. Not wide enough to deal with much fresh snow, but designed to excel in all types of terrain.
Key Features:
- 88mm Waist – At 88mm underfoot, this ski is narrow enough to hold an edge and remain precise in really hard snow. Not ideal for powder but will be a joy when it hasn’t stormed in a while.

 Welcome to our 2023 ski test. Today we're talking about the classic, the Brahma 88 from Blizzard. This ski's been around for a while now. It's really made a name for itself

 That's going to have easier edge release where this is going to require some some unweighting of the tail if you take it into moguls and trees and stuff like that. This latest version I do think is the most versatile yet. Adding the Truebland wood core helped quite a bit because it allowed them to soften the tips and tails just a touch without sacrificing strength and power underfoot. But the Brahma 88, it's still it's the real deal

 This ski's been around for a while now. It's really made a name for itself. It is hands down one of the strongest skis in the kind of 88 to low 90 all-mountain category. It's even so far, you know, it's sort of the benchmark for performance if you're looking for a really, really strong all-mountain ski

 You get surfiness, carve-ish, surfy. Anyways so the the Brahma features metal and you can see it's pretty important right under the foot here and so under foot yeah and you got to live the moment but the idea here is I see two layers of aluminum or titanium or some type of metal some type of non plastic material under the base and and that really solidifies the ski allows a sense of lightweight at the extremities so the ski is very a swing weight very very soft-ish at the tip but yep when you put it on edge comes around nicely. Ski reacts favorably. There's no chatter whatsoever and it's a 177 and here I am again stating I'm someone that likes to ski on longer because I'm used to it but I'm slowly starting to convert to this length of a ski in that it does it so well

 This is a lovely ski. Did I get it right? So this is a lovely ski. This ski after getting on carving-ish skis you get on this ski and you get the immediacy of a carving ski but but that's that sound effects important but what you get is you also get ease of use. You get forgiveness

 An 88 is if you're skiing mostly piste skis but you want something that's a little bit more forgiving. This ski and I'm going to use what we call in our business a Mike-ism. This is a lovely ski. Did I get it right? So this is a lovely ski

 We did just ski some rock hard bumps on center line, really, really firm bumps with ice in between and not the easiest ski for bumps, but definitely did better than I expected. You expect to get bucked if you're skiing really firm moguls and that was not the case. These were a lot better than I've experienced in the past with these skis in particular and also skis like this, so definitely an improvement in that regard. A little more well-rounded

 So really good ski, same ski for 2021 and 2022. So you can pick it up now and you're essentially buying next year's ski which is also this year's ski, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera. So yeah, that's it and with that I'll leave you to the rest of the review. We did a little different this time, I kind of tried to do it like interview style with Bob and really get a lot of feedback from Bob up on the mountain

Speed focused all mountain skis

 I was arcing huge turns, really stable in the tip. Felt really secure on this ski. The ski has a lot of camber underfoot and very little rocker in the tip, very little early rise. This is definitely a ski for strong advanced to expert skiers

I'm on the search for some all mountain skis to fill the void of not skiing during the summer months. Looking for something between 97-101 underfoot with a partial or full twin tip. Don't do any park, but want something that can handle powder and trees but still be really fun ripping down groomers. Youtube reviews only provide so much info though. Looking for some insights from skiers on here and their experience with these skis (and maybe even some other similar skis that they think are awesome)

Atomic Bent Chetler 100s vs. Salomon QST 99

 This is a ski that an intermediate skier can progress on and an expert skier will most definitely appreciate. Buy the Blizzard Brahma 88 if you need a directional daily driver that never feels nervous on ice and is dependable from cannon to big sky.
