The ce-2w’s standard mode faithfully recreates the classic ce-2 chorus sound, and adds an expansive new sound field with stereo output, which was unavailable in the mono ce-2. Ce-1 mode fully reproduces the stereo chorus and vibrato sounds of the legendary ce-1, with the addition of variable chorus depth not available in the original pedal.  Alright i have the pedal in a two bypass looper so let's engage the pedal and i have kind of the settings just straight up. This is a very simple pedal with two knobs we got the rate and we have the depth. You can kind of get a leslie effect cranking them all the way up. You can get kind of subtle chorus sounds with them just kind of straight up or we can turn it down

 This is the clean chorus. This can give you some of the 80s sounds like the police. It can give you some of the 80s sounds like the police. That was a TC2290 delay and PCM80 reverb and we can even put some overdrive before the ce2 to kind of even go for even more sort of 80s

Great chorus pedal but is noisy at large settings

 The far left is standard position, which is the standard CE-2 chorus, a little bit of extra parameter with depth control and stereo output, which was not offered on the original CE-2. Middle position is the chorus function of the CE-1, and to the far right is the vibrato function of the CE-1. So let's check this thing out. I'm playing here a Guild S-200 Thunderbird reissue, going through a Fender Vibralux

From what I understand it's two separate amps running in true stereo to make the chorus sound on the JC-120. It's kind of a moot thing since the speakers are so close together, but the sound of it is very pleasing to me.

What's a chorus pedal that would copy the chorus of a JC-120?

  It works & sounds great with both single coils & humbuckers. Running mine through a Marshall DSL with 4 x 12 cab if your wondering.  This is an amazing pedal which i highly recommend to those left wondering if the price tag seems a little steep. I was in this boat, glad i went for it as its worth worth every penny & of course, It's built like a tank as you would expect from Boss

oh my days... what a pedal this is!

I've got the Pitch Fork for octave up/down effects or alternate tunings. The Plumes is pretty much always on, and it can drive the RAT for great distortion and rhythms, or drive the Big Muff for leads and fuzz that doesn't get lost in the mix. The CE-2 is hands-down the best chorus ever, and with the RAT it's instant goth rock.

What is your FAVORITE pedal?

  I love using this pedal as an "almost not there but it's there" type of chorus. Turn it off and notice something is missing, turn it on and there's a depth and dimension to your tone that wasn't there before.  Nails the 80's Clapton and Sob Rock Mayer era tones, and I'm sure much more.

  This pedal translate all of that, and a bit more. Think Dimension C if you want it, get that washy almost "tri" chorus effect, and everything in between.  I love using this pedal as an "almost not there but it's there" type of chorus. Turn it off and notice something is missing, turn it on and there's a depth and dimension to your tone that wasn't there before
