 Absolutely appreciate that. Not everything I'm going to say is positives, but on the most part I've had a really pleasant experience using this amp, especially after using the Mustang GT series stuff and wipes the floor with those. I've gone ahead and I've set up four different patches on this particular amp and you can access them from going from Channel 1, Channel 2, Channel 3, and Channel 4. It also has a loop function if you're running something in the loop in combination with these four channels

 I've got some delay going on in the background there, so that's nice. Let's turn that off and the reverb back on. [Music] Sounds cool. Preset number one was made using the Clean channel on the Antis by using the dial over the Channel Two, which was made using the Crunch channel [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] Oh [Music] So realistically, in combination with either just setting up one patch using the effects or having four patches via this foot switch, you can actually set yourself up to either different guitars or just different levels of game, which is how I've got it currently set up

[QUESTION] Good affordable metal amp

 I also don't care or have any interest in "gigging" - just want to play in the apt. and get some tones that I like, quickly.  I have a Marshall DSL that is just far superior for what I was looking for and it's super easy to use. Incredible tone, tube feel/sound that is authentic, and I can push that sound at a very low volume with its attenuator, as well

 None of the amp models that this had (Brown/Crunch/Lead/etc.) went quite heavy enough for the sound I was particularly seeking. i.e

Cool 12" Amp but definitely for Intermediate or Advanced Users; over-hyped for newbies like me

My budget is very limited and i don't have the money to spend on a new fancy amp. So a sound card seems like a good alternative and more budget friendly.

[GEAR] Amp or sound card?

 Let me start by saying that this amp is an excellent amp for most situations and is a great alternative if you don't want to use a tube or want a lighter amp to carry to gigs. The tone cloud is also great, as well as the clean and crunch tones. My main issues with the Katana are: I am not fond of the higher gain tones, the headphone out seems to be mono which is just downright stupid in this day and age. I mostly play and record at home now, and trying to record with the USB cable is a pain on a windows PC

 Really annoying when your playing heavy songs that have slower soft parts (Avenged Sevenfold, Godsmack, Breaking Benjamin, etc.).

 An UZI distortion. A noise gate, and a looper. That's it. My problem is if I turn off the distortion pedal the Amp"s volume gets extremely low

Absolutely amazing, with one glitch.

 The drivers for the tone studio with this amp are not updated for Windows 11. Pending. How long? Who knows. Without this you lose probably 50% or more of the capability and ease of use of the amp
